In Hour 2 we welcome German duo Âme, whose productions have featured many times on Solid Steel over the years. From their early releases on Sonar Kollektiv and their own Innervisions label, they have consistently produced music of high quality. In this mix they start with the melancholic vocal of Patrick Watson on The Cinematic Orchestra's 'To Build a Home' and on to the sound of Land Observations, Rotla and the Brian Eno project alongside Karl Hyde. Then it's Cirrus by Bonobo, Owen Pallett on Domino, To Rococo Rot and a remix of Peter Gabriel by Frank Wiedemann (one half of Âme) before closing with the beautiful sound of Joram Feitsma.

This led me to delve deeper into the music from the surrounding countries to see what I could find and I got really interested in the sounds and rhythms from these places as well as other parts of the world. This mix is me channeling those influences into more electronic territory. The mix has tracks from not only Turkey but from all around the globe, from Iran to Israel, from Australia to Brazil, from Romania to Egypt…"
