Been there, done that

Stimming live at Praia - Waking Life '22

In 2016 I went to -now my dear friend, back then only my favorite DJ- Mira's birthday at Kater Blau for the first time. I was super into music, making mixtapes at home, going to so many parties and writing about them but not a DJ yet.

The vibe of the club, the music in all floors, and the fact that Mira is big supporter of female acts and seeing all these badass women playing mind-blowing music at this party had its mark on me.

Watching these legends Mira, Britta, Mimi Love, Mila Stern, Caleesi, I wanted to do it myself and I found the motivation, courage and inspiration because they were also women like me! Representation is so important!

In the following years I kept going to this party for my yearly dose of inspiration and of course fun!

Over the years, inspired by Mira and being colleagues now, we became friends and her impact on my life wasn't just musical. She's such a wise and wholesome person with integrity and the heart in all in the right places, that having her as a friend and inspiration definitely made me a better person and my journey of the new international touring DJ way smoother.

in 2021 I was even supposed to play for Mira's 44th birthday for the first time but the pandemic... (I mean I don't even need to finish this sentence). I ended up playing her 44.5 in Summer, the Ersatz Katzen party :)

Anyway, fast forward to 7 years and the birthday queen not only invited me to play her 46 Katzen party but also gave me the biggest honor of taking over the stage after her.

Playing Thursday in NYC, Friday in Montreal, flying back to Europe on Saturday, Sunday noon I arrived to Berlin like a zombie. Sleep before and after the set is hard but during... Actually not that bad. I was on a dream state throughout my set.

It felt really like a dream playing in a room not too long ago gave me the inspiration to be here today celebrating a women who always lifts others up as she rises. 

I also played music from my label Marginalia, I heard Mira and Mila Stern playing Marginalia too and I also two new artists from Marginalia family, Bakayan and D’aria were In the room when I played their unreleased music! What a moment 
I stayed sleep dancing until late because of all the incredible music

what an honor to play at this unique birthday celebration, I am grateful to life

Here's to the rave weekend of the year, adventure time celebrating the amazing woman, artist and achiever @mira_kater among 46 other Katz dancing like there is no tomorrow.  It was a little crazy that she asked me to play on that Monday night at Heinz Hopper and I was nothing short of nervous of course, the Universe decided to test me a little more with some technical glitches to start with and see if I could make it through (ahah). I am so happy to share with you my set on that day (I call it my warrior set) and the unforgettable journey it has been 🙃
Thank you Mira for being one of my biggest inspirations along the years, and for making me the honor of inviting me to play at your legendary birthday rave. 
And to all the dancers for the crazy energy and love 💕 I hope you enjoy listening!

We used to not even face the DJ, we just danced and enjoyed ourselves...So why not do that again?

Bucht der Träumer Festival was one the most fun shows I played this year. I had a great time on the magical Atlantis stage, sharing music to an incredible crowd Saturday evening, started when it was still day time and ended when i could see all the totems and lights of the stage lit up. Big thanks to everyone for being there and dancing with me, here's a little souvenir for you. And the ones that were not there please enjoy a little moment from this beautiful festival in Germany.

Einfach mal... Kurz für immer bleiben ✨


Was für eine schöne Vorstellung, wenn man diese glücklichen Momente einfach einfrieren 
und für immer behalten könnte. 

Und damit meine ich nicht nur Augenblicke an sich, sondern insbesondere auch die Menschen die uns dabei begleiten und die wir in unser Herz geschlossen haben

´Treibgut´ wäre für dieses Set auch ein überaus treffender Titel gewesen...
Man kann sich noch so gut schützen.. immer wieder stellt das Leben uns vor die schwierige Aufgabe, einen lieben und wichtigen Menschen einfach treiben/gehen lassen zu müssen

Manchmal ist es nur für eine Zeit lang...
...und manchmal ist es leider doch für sehr viel länger...

Ihr hört meine Art diese Herausforderung anzunehmen ♪♬♪

Loslassen. Nicht allzu lang traurig zu sein über den Verlust, oder die entstandene Leere..
Wer weiß denn schon, was das Leben sonst noch für einen bereit hält  ..eventuell ja sogar eine Strömung, die diesen Menschen irgendwann vielleicht auch wieder zurück treibt zu uns ✨

Aber eines kann man jetzt schon ganz gewiss über die Zukunft sagen! 
Es war und es wird:  Garantiert Wechselhaft
