Lindsey Wang draws direct influence from a beloved childhood cartoon, itself inspired by the ancient Chinese legend 'Journey to the West' and the iconic character Sun Wukong. In a retro-modern twist, the tracks vividly depict Sun Wukong's essence: 'Jindou Yun' embodies the swiftness of his cloud, 'Shen Wai Shenfa' invokes his magical hair with tribal rhythms, 'Ruyi Jingu Bang' mirrors his legendary staff's power, and 'Disha Shu' portrays his 72 Transformations through vibrant harmonics.

Standing on the mountainside you can see the entire landscape. Shaded gullies in the valley, branches moving with the wind and in the distance lines converging with the vault, the clouds stacked high and pierced by beams of light. Intricate details can be found when you stop for a moment and be still. Mirrors face one another, an infinite world.

Heatwave, the new record from Melbourne duo OK EG, is an exploration of techno’s deepest layers. Tracks like “Radial” pulse with bass-heavy grooves, while “Heatwave” melts into lysergic bliss—each sound folding in on itself, revealing new dimensions. Mirrored by the mind bending artwork, Heatwave is a trip through refracted techno at it’s most intricate.

East London's Ara-U joins forces with UK hardware hash key Ben Pest for 'Kaos Sympatik' EP, a four-track trowelling of various niche gear possibilities, be these the EMS VCS3, Roland VP330 or a one-off Orgon prototype dubbed the Silver Box. The result is a set of cogjammed, dark analogue acid and machine-fried club gear sounding out like mad scientists' cackles, wiling away and abreast gnarled electro. Pest's recent output moves from solo cuts on Cultivated Electronics and Posh End to pairings with Kursa and Radioactive Man, and has of late leaned into high-volt funk and rougher-edged drums, but here the connection with Ara-U (whose own catalogue now numbers sixteen NS/A releases) moves to twitchier, more sensitive sequencing.

Dutch duo Artefakt launch their own imprint entitled De Stijl this February, initially with their own ‘Far and Wide EP’ with follow up appearances from Rhine and Cyspe. The imprint delivers a fertile ground for further exploration of their sound, as well as providing a home to affiliated projects and close friends.

‘Far and Wide’ opens up with pitter-patter drums whilst soaring pads join scintillating synths and a medley of subtle effects. With its rumbling percussion, murky bass and tantalising melody, ‘Ghost in the Machine’ takes things into darker territories before ‘Crystal Confessions’ employs a hypnotising aesthetic built on a syncopated rhythm and heavenly chords. Finally, the electro inspired ‘Levity’ concludes matters with a meandering bassline and wistful sequences.
