Etapp Kyle [ Klockworks / Prologue ] Ukraine

Sprint from a position of stay-at-home audiophile to a status of hero at decks, attracting attention of nightclubbers, took only a few months for Etapp Kyle. Enlisting friends’ support and interest from Russia’s legendary techno club ARMA17, the artist made his first appearance in Moscow a couple of years ago. Now it’s clear that he did it right – subsequent visits to Moscow gave no reasons for doubts about his competence, but also showed how rapidly the young resident of Western Ukraine was developing.
Today Etapp Kyle is on threshold of a new period of creative activity in a company of notable players of global techno scene. Results of his studio work receive serious interest from truly remarkable labels. Thus, in 2013 one of his tracks appears at minMAX compilation by Richie Hawtin's M_nus, and right away his debut 4 track vinyl gets released by the famous Ben Klock's Klockworks. His music receives strong support from the most important players of the scene, channeled through soundsystems of techno festivals worldwide.
Performing in front of a dancefloor the most sophisticated combinations, he invites to check the depths of a piercing cold canyon, then fleetingly carrying to a textural and almost tangible landscape of a forest at night, with its inherent softness and smooth motion of warm air. Love to dynamic, dark sound finds its expression in mixing with soft melodies, and powerful groove in his music competes with transparent, disembodied imprints of illusory atmosphere.ny people out there dedicating themselves to this kind of music.

Guest mix to "BAIHUI Live", China-launched independent radio station to feature talents in China and across the globe. The program is hosted by Berlin-based rising talent @templerat .

I created a mix that embodies the vibrant summer atmosphere. The theme of the mix is titled as "Californian Psychedelia." Drawing inspiration from my memories of California during my teenage years, I adorn the mix with numerous sparkling sounds, with the heartfelt prayer that listeners would feel utmost happiness. While primarily exploring house and disco dub, I add a psychedelic and trippy ambiance by incorporating elements of rock into the sound.

The ‘psychedelia’ experienced in California, which served as the theme for this mix, was reminiscent of everyday life. From the majestic wineries bathed in the radiant sun under the blue sky to the scent of the ocean reaching from the pristine coastline, and the drives along the highways that connect vast lands. Extending your hand from a running convertible, the soft yet slightly dry air caresses your skin, and with each encounter with such a breeze, it feels like returning to one's true self, one by one. Enveloped in the gently flowing time, there is the presence of the person beside you in those moments—experiencing the sun and the earth together with loved ones, friends, and family, and feeling the undeniable presence of love when gazing into each other's eyes. This was the interpretation of psychedelia in this mix.

With this mix, you may dance with friends on a terrace, take a walk in town/nature or feel the sunlight under the blue sky… I hope each one of you can feel the beauty of this present moment, the beauty of being alive. With the intention of adding a touch of sparkle to this summer and wishing everyone a wonderful time, I send my love and prayers. ✨🕊

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Night Sea is a French-American duo working at the intersection of ambient music and generative audiovisuals. Their music focuses on the hypnotic and meditative experience of sound, combining textural atmospheres and subtle dub rhythms into an entrancing haze. 

Description
We created this video to capture new material we recently wrote for a live performance at the Chillits Music Festival in Mendocino, CA. The music was written specifically for this performance using samples and stems from all across our discography and unreleased material. The result is new yet familiar, re-examining our process and sound from new angles. The video was set up to capture the stillness and beauty of this moment in time as California transitions into fall, a season of pale blue skies, crisp air, and restorative rainfalls.

The live setup primarily revolves around the use of the Borderlands app (a granular synthesizer) running on two separate iPads, Ableton Push for drums, a midi mixer, a modular synthesizer for sampling and manipulating live audio, a 303 clone, and a drone synth. 

Recorded in our home studio in Alameda, CA on October 5th, 2023.

This time I share with you a calm winter journey routed in the slower BPM range of 103. I recorded it for the lovely Mix series hosted by my friend @templerat on the chinese radio station 百会 BAIHUI.

I felt it was the right moment to dive into the more relaxed side of my musical explorations. After all the fast groovy dance sessions at all sorts of places this year, it's great to dive into the profound deep side of things to get some new inspirations 🪸

In the realm of Obscure Textures, where time and melodies intertwined, a custodian named Lyricus existed. One day, Lyricus encountered Melodia, a soul draped in twilight hues. Guiding her through astral realms, Lyricus unveiled the divine sonics within the silence, the harmonies of creation.
As they danced through cosmic realms, Melodia and Lyricus became intertwined in a celestial ballet. Their essence echoed the cosmic symphony, a testament to the poetic connection of the Obscure Textures. Together, they wrote a new verse, a tender sonnet etched in the heart of the cosmos, a love story whispered in celestial whispers across the ages.

Bio/

Forma Oscura, originally from Greece and now a resident of London since 2012, has harboured a profound passion for electronic music since a young age. 
Immersed in constantly exploring new auditory experiences, her musical interests traverse a diverse spectrum. From experimental compositions and tribal beats to mesmerizing melodies, dub-infused techno rhythms, and mentally evocative soundscapes, she finds her passion in exploring mystical and ethereal musical realms that surpass traditional boundaries.
Forma Oscura hosts a radio show on VoicesRadio.co.uk every first Sunday of the month, broadcasting from 1 AM to 2 AM, and collaborates with Temple, a label based in London.

To welcome the weekend, @Lau has enlisted the musical talents of @Saschienne for our latest mix release to accompany their new EP, Golden Prints on @kompakt.

As Saschienne, Sascha Funke formed a duo with multi-talented instrumentalist, singer and wife Julienne Dessagne (@thetrulyfantastictwins), creating a sound previously unknown to anyone following his solo work.

To us, they are possibly the most brilliant and cool couple in the music industry, Saschienne is the perfect blend of Sascha and Julienne's universe.

It's such an interesting story accompanied by high skill not only in the electronic but also in the instrumental parts. Ambient, Downtempo, old school gamy sound, cantonese pop music vibes and more interesting colours appear in this versatile journey. Real earcandy 🍭

More about Xiaolin ~

Xiaolin (曉霖) is a DJ, producer, vinyl collector and classically-trained musician from Hong Kong. Driven by a relentless curiosity for warm sounds, complex emotions and colourful textures, she enjoys crafting magnetic sets that draw audiences in, while her live ambient sets reveal the more contemplative side of her natural musicality as a former concert violinist.

Xiaolin spent a decade studying classical violin, jazz, world music and electronic composition at Juilliard (BM’14) and Berklee Valencia (MM ’15/’16), where she played in Batucada/jazz bands and began collecting records under her mentor, Nacho Marco. Having spent two years in London just before the pandemic, she developed an interest in UK underground culture and Detroit electro.

Inspired by sounds from the the mid 80’s-early 00’s, her love for video games, anime, nature as well as a respect for her Cantonese roots, Xiaolin’s analog synth-heavy productions range from gritty acid house and breaks with earthy percussion to tripped-out electro, bassy groovers and raw downtempo ambience that invoke deeper feelings of romantic adventure with a dreamy, theatrical touch.  

Despite her ever-evolving nature, Xiaolin’s ethereal-yet-raw sound remains a signature throughout all productions.

Xiaolin is sensitive to the dancefloor and crafts an intuitive journey unbound by genre, digging deep to discover dynamic connections.  Her energetic, acid-laden selections explore the vast in-between of house and techno, while her original live set has three formats: “Sun” for daytime settings, “Moon” for meditative settings and “Body” for nightclub settings.

Releases include two EP’s on 宀 Records, a collaborative track on Klasse Wrecks “Michaelsoft", VA contributions on 20/20 Vision (Exit Planet Earth – “Helium”), Polychrome Audio (“Diffraction EP”) and Harmony Rec (upcoming), as well as three 80’s Cantonese disco tribute EP’s on Sound Metaphors’ “Bless You” imprint (A&R by Jane Fitz).

Xiaolin's ‘HEX’ residency at 宀 (Hong Kong) has seen her invite & play alongside guests such as Polygonia, Mary Lake, Peach, Merve, Vlada, Joe Delon, Closet Yi, Jesse You, Maara etc.  She hosts a bimonthly show on Baihui Radio China and has done guest mixes on EYA, Test Pressing, The Mudd Show, The Lot Radio, NTS and Balamii amongst others.  

Recent highlights include Boiler Room (Singapore), Blitz Club (Unchained), and Panorama Bar on live set as part of Sound Metaphors’ 9-year-anniversary event (coinciding with the release of her second EP on Bless You), with upcoming sets at Wonderfruit Festival and Womb Tokyo.  She will make her Rainbow Disco Club live set debut with Kuniyuki Takahashi in April 2025.

SoundSculptors No 4 - Xiaolin 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦

@syberkid creates a journey through the flames, leaving us with the burning embers of an eclectic mix of drone and ambient harmony. This was recorded live at the ‘Burning of The Clavie’ at MKII in London, on January 11th 2025.

This artwork is a collaboration between Sybil, Adam, and Mark, creating cymatics of sonic experimentation, and with each installment of the series, we will explore turning a fraction of sound into light. 🎨

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.
