@loekfrey is a name that now sits up there with some of the most exciting talents to have emerged from the Dutch scene in recent times. It's his unique blend of IDM, techno, breakbeat and drum & bass that has turned so many heads, not least with his Decipher album on home label Omen Wapta which was a widescreen soundscape of varying intensities and tempos. His ability to veer from the intricate and experimental to the hallucinatory and vibrant is second to none as he proves with his mix for us this week. 

It is a special one that is fully live and made up entirely of his own productions so makes for a perfect window into his world. Inside you will find 60 atmospheric minutes that soon immerse you in cinematic cosmic ambiance and hurried minimal rhythms embellished with ghoulish voices and dark undertones that unite both body and mind. Kohra (ک()رہ Urdu for fog/mist) has been a member of the underground dance music community in India for nearly two decades. His journey is a testament to his ability to weave together an array of sounds and psychedelic textures, inviting listeners into realms where genres dissolve, allowing stories to unfold through immersive soundscapes. On a quest to bridge the gap between introspective techno and atmospheric jungle, infused with tribal rhythms rooted in Indian traditions, Kohra’s sets are designed to guide listeners through astral wormholes, blurring the boundaries of time and space.

This same philosophy led him to establish Qilla Records (قلعه Urdu for fort or castle) in 2011. The label was created with the purpose of fostering a community of like-minded artists, united by a shared passion for innovative sound and artistic spirit. Qilla celebrated their 100th release earlier this year with the outstanding Chakravy VA which featured 34 artists from 12 countries.

Next up in our mixseries is Sindh, previously known as 9beats. Sindh is a project born in 2021, with a hardware heavy sound, merging modular frequencies and tribal percussions creating his very own signature sound. His Komudo series, along with releases on respected labels like IDO, Lowless, and A-Biotic, has helped carve out a distinctive sonic identity—one that nods to the shifting tides of the millennium while staying fresh and forward-thinking. His signature sound has found a home in clubs like Garage Noord and Macadam, as well as festivals like Monument, Above Below, and Ouroboros.

In this mix Sindh takes us on an all-vinyl trip, digging deep into his crates, weaving together a vinyl journey that tunnels through both old-school and futuristic sounds. Acid-laced techno, rolling trance, and hypnotic pulses twist and turn, blurring the lines between past and present. One hour for deep listeners and adventurous dancers alike.

Ute Mix Series #98 | Sindh

Remma is a DJ and founder of the DIY station ITMOTR Radio, which has played a significant role in shaping the music culture of the outer Eastern corner of the Netherlands. Remma has played at institutions such as Dekmantel, Garage Noord and had multiple appearances at De School, where he was selected to play one of the final sets at the legendary ‘Het Einde’ closing party. 

For MNMT 458 the young virtuoso shows skills and finesse behind the decks like that of a seasoned veteran, weaving together obscurities from by-gone eras with the freshest cuts into one seamless trip. No big hits, nothing obvious, just pure heads-down hypnotism.

MNMT 458 : Remma

Next up in our mix series is Innersha, hailing from Yerevan, Armenia. As an initiator in the local raving scene and a co-founder of the dk.tsk collective, her artistic development has been significantly shaped by the communal music experience. Innersha is a relatively new face to the scene, with her debut EP just last October, on Polygonias label ‘QEONE’. In the short time she has already carved her sound, and with upcoming performances at the iconic Macadam and pe:rsona festival this summer. Innersha also contributed with a track on the freshly released '8 Years of Ute' CD, which dropped this week.

For this episode, Innersha shares a live recording from her set at the Omen Wapta Weekender at Garage Noord in Amsterdam in April. The mix is a raw, heads-down excursion into hypnotic territory, full of shifting patterns, deep pulses, and high pace. Capturing the energy of a packed room in motion, the set balances intensity with restraint, showcasing Innersha’s ability to hold tension and guide a narrative across the arc of a live performance.
