After a longer break a new original song for my main project "heartscore". I looked, when I had released the last one and it was six month ago! Time is rushing … While the last original songs like "Mary, Maggy, Molly and May" and "Sylvester's gonna die" were based on older ideas this new track developed very fast during a creative phase after my last vacation. The poem was written by the famous poet Emily Dickinson. Hope is personified as a bird. While this sounds cute at first Dickinson is finding also some dark words like "abash", "storm", "chillest land" and "strangest sea", which let the reality break through sometimes.

Musical notes: The verse-section is pure pentatonic and was influenced by asian music a bit. In the middle-section I play around with a motif going through all instruments and getting shorter and shorter until it ends as a single tone. I thought on fading hope while writing this part. This leads into a gospel/soul-part and then going back to the verse section. That's it.

Recording notes: I recorded the guitars with my Ibanez FRM-100, a single-coil guitar. I looked for a clear heavy-sound and ended up with the bridge/middle position, maybe unusual. Because the guitars are quite high during the verse I wanted a strong counterpart and added distortion on the bass-guitar. The Modulation in the middle part is a flanger applied to the main bus. As usual for the "heartscore"-songs Chris from studiopros.com took over the lead-vocals.

My punk arse needed to play something very raw immediately! Like right NOW! :) Gonna get bumpy and you've being warned! hell yeah, one minute (and now by persistent request two minutes :)! I bet it finishes earlier when you press a Skip button :P  

I broke 3 good guitar picks on my Yamaha electric bass on this outburst! and grinding the Fender Silver Bullet strings on Fender Strat, (couple of those on the cover art... ney I got more solid ones, but soft picks gave nice feel to jamn').  Played by me on Fender Start and Yamaha Electric bass. Used Line 6 Pod XT and B-52 LS-100 Head and 4x12 B-52 cab.

This is a piece dedicated to Sam Prock's(https://soundcloud.com/samprock) Climate Change Challenge.  A noise with purpose what could be better.  In constructing this piece I broke a few rules, a little experimental and out of my comfort zone.

The vocals are a speech from Chief Oren Lyons about climate change.  He was remembering a elder meeting from his youth.  Reciting Louie Badwound's address to the elders.. and how from his own perspective much of what Louie wanted the elders to do has come to pass.

Climate Change -  In my world...we live such short spans of time... its hard to really know anything for sure.  So maybe there is some room for interpretation on the data... but regardless here are the truths of my short may fly existence. 

People were using to much leaded gasoline that it was poisoning the food chain,  the meat, fish and grain.  So we had to get rid of it to keep ourselves healthy.  

People used so many aerosol spray cans,  that it began to destroy the ozone layer.  We had to stop to prevent further damage. 

The ocean used to be filled with all the fishes we liked to eat.  Now they are getting harder to find.

So with my limited knowledge and logic, yeah.. I think the people on this planet can change the climate by their actions...because they already have done it 3 other times in just a single, yet unfinished life time.

You can only have a legacy.. if the species survives.

Musically here... I just play what I feel and like, like many. Translating _it_ into the best sound I could do at the moment, hoping to let out some of grooves and vibes boiling my head constantly. Might be messy, bumpy, puzzling, but this is what it is. By design. Crystal Ripples continues my "Impressionism in Music" series. I love to induce and provoke, rather than impose. All for creative listening experience, so we collab, co-create.... Thank you.

Fender Stratocaster finger picking and (slightly) distorted basslines and twangs. Tones are using Line 6 hardware Pod XT. Post Line6 and IK Multimedia Amplitube.  Korg Synths, including Gadget tool Brussels, which solemnly soloing at 0:50. All synths sounds transitions achieved by playing physical knobs on my Arturia controller. All 37 lines of guitars, perc, synth total are assembled in Ableton Live 9 and mastered with IK Multimedia.
