“Two things fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and steadily we reflect upon them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me. I do not seek or conjecture either of them as if they were veiled obscurities or extravagances beyond the horizon of my vision; I see them before me and connect them immediately with the consciousness of my existence.”

Moral action isn’t about consequences or feelings but about the form of will — the structure of reason itself. In other words, morality arises when reason governs the will in a universal, law like way, independent of personal desire or circumstance.

As reason has two wings — one flies through the phenomena (knowledge), the other through freedom (ethics). Both follow the same inner lawfulness, but one looks outward at nature, the other inward at duty.

So the mind isn’t a passive container; it is continuously self-organizing through synthesis. Each experience reinforces, adjusts, and sometimes challenges the mind’s categories. In that sense, yes — the mind is being “formed” by its own activity.

The same faculty that organizes experience in knowledge can organize our will according to universal law. Just as synthesis gives structure to the changing world, reason gives structure to our freedom: we become agents who act according to principles, not just impulses.

In other words, synthesis isn’t just about knowing the world — it’s about forming the self.

William Arist (William Aristegui) is a DJ, producer, and teacher from Uruguay, with a passion for exploring sound and sharing knowledge. His music blends a heavy, contemporary take on techno, leading to releases on respected labels and support from established artists in the scene.

Over the years, he has collaborated and exchanged with notable figures in the genre, remixing artists like Gary Beck and Vinicius Honorio, collaborating with Jon Hester, receiving remixes from Truncate, Vil, Alarico etc, and releasing nearly 20 vinyl records along with two LPs, one of them on cassette.

As a DJ, he has chosen to remain discreet, yet his work has still captured the attention of clubs and promoters, leading him to perform across several countries and share the booth with artists such as DVS1, SHDW, Dax J, Ellen Allien, Truncate, Setaoc Mass, Dj Koolt, Vinicius Honorio, Adriana Lopez, PEARL, Marcal, Fadi Mohem, Zisko, among many other renowned names in the techno scene.

Beyond his personal projects, he runs Espacio Sonoro, a music production school that has welcomed students from over 15 countries, and Perseverancia Records, a label that continues to grow thanks to a dedicated community. He also collaborates with other educational platforms and schools worldwide.

Currently, he is focused on expanding ARIST, a platform that brings all his projects together within an independent and collaborative ecosystem.
