I started writing this track two years ago, back when I knew very little about producing ambient music or achieving a polished sound.
Now two years later, I think it's time to let this track go. It has been hiding in the shadow long enough.

It’s a simple drone piece built from evolving textures, pads and piano, telling a story of two whales drifting away to a safe haven.

The Turtles are back at least for this track! This mix was made with audio cuts from a scene in Azumanga Daioh that gained meme popularity years ago. Tidus and I reference it time to time but decided to immortalize our love for this scene in this mix.

Intro

The Burning Barrel

Audio of chimes in the wind. Just playing around. I was thinking about the "Don't look back" mythology trope yesterday so that was the title inspiration. Starting to slowly bleed into some in program stacking with this track getting a feel for the KO II with additional improv synth post recording on good old FL studio mobile.

Don't Look Back, Orpheus (KO II Improv)

Our natural environment is under threat, and even the population of house sparrows has declined significantly in some areas. In response to this week's Disquiet Junto project prompt, I intend to provide the sparrows with a powerful voice. This piece is based on an uncut field recording that I made in the small Pyrenean town of Aulus-les-Bains at 7 o'clock in the morning, as can be heard from the ringing of the church bells.
I created this soundscape by enhancing the birdsong with different techniques and effects, and adding only the sparse piano notes to the recording's sound material.
A European robin joins in at one point, as do other birds.
Perhaps we need to emphasise the voice of nature to make it heard again.

Subtle Changes (Magician Anthology 2025 CD5 Track 13)

sacred depth

An electronic composition recorded in real-time using Pure Data with algorithms to set parameters for the creation of contrapuntal rhythmic patterns. The track combines sine and sawtooth waves without effects - a 'mathematical' soundscape.
