A permanent fixture in the underground, I-F has long made people move with his unmistakably unique taste in records. Forged in the squats and pirate radio stations of The Hague during the early ’90s, his influence on electronic music is that rare thing – both foundational and ongoing. He’s a musical shape-shifter with no allegiance to era or genre and has spent decades defining and defying dancefloors. From disco to acid, house to Italo, techno to cinematic synth oddities, anything goes so long as it moves people.

His DJ sets are fierce and unpredictable. Electric journeys full of risk, soul and story. Whether on festival stages like Dekmantel, Draaimolen and Lowlands, or deep in the smoke-filled sanctuaries of Berghain | Panorama Bar, Tresor or Bassiani – he plays for the heads, the freaks, the late-night wanderers, and has done it everywhere. For I-F, boundaries do not exist. He is as likely to drop a disco anthem as he is to revive an obscure cassette relic, but always guided by feel, not fashion, and drawn from a lifetime of knowledge.

He is, of course, the mind behind the cult Intergalactic FM, a 24/7 broadcast empire beaming transmissions from its base in The Hague out into an infinite universe, and founder of the seminal labels Viewlexx and Murdercapital, which are pillars for outsider music lovers across the world. His late ’90s mixes, Mixed Up in the Hague Vol. 1 & 2, helped ignite a generational rediscovery of Italo and early electro, and his 1997 track ‘Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass’ rewrote the rules and left a permanent mark on the evolution of dance music.

With his Beverly Hills 808303 project, he dives deep into a world of distorted acid sounds, bringing machine music alive with every squelch and groove. And with Panama Racing Club, his physical space in The Hague, he builds communities across generations and formats by streaming sets, hosting events and keeping the scene as vibrant as ever.

Still elusive. Still uncompromising. Still ahead. I-F continues to build the future.

Intergalactic Gary has been mixing since the early ’80s, shaped by The Hague’s underground scene. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, but long based in the Netherlands, he first made his mark in the city’s squats and clubs before holding a residency at LA D.S. from 1992 to 1996, bringing house, garage and disco to Sunday nights. Around the same time he became a weekly voice on pirate stations like Trend FM and Radical Radio alongside I-F.

As a producer, his first record appeared in 1994, followed by The Parallax Corporation with I-F in 1998. Their Lift Off single and Cocadisco series on Viewlexx became underground landmarks, alongside remixes for Jolly Music's-Radio Jolly (Sony) Adult.'s-Hand to Phone (Clone), Ganymed's-Music Takes Me Higher (Sabotage) and Japanese Telecom.

For decades he has been a constant presence on the international circuit, from Panorama Bar and Tresor (Berlin) to De School (Amsterdam) and XOYO (London), and across clubs and festivals in Barcelona, Brussels, Beijing, New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City. His sets are unpredictable and move fluidly between disco, house, Italo and techno. Since 2002 he’s also been a regular on Intergalactic FM, where his mixes continue to inspire listeners worldwide.

was born to bring the darkest, most sensual and hypnotic underground sounds of dark wave, Ebm, Coldwave, post-punk & Techno. Yami has played in renowned underground festivals and parties in countries such as: Germany, U.K., Italy, Russia, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Perù.
He is currently the organizer and resident dj of one of the best Fetish underground parties in Peru such as Whip me? & Die in the disco.

But there’s more to Mendez than being a connoisseur of all genres dark and hard-edged. In addition to being a DJ, Mendez is an entrepreneur and a science enthusiast. KEYI sat down to talk with her about her world before techno and the ways in which research and precision define her creative work and her extra musical life.

wav.world emerged out of a long-running chat exchange of mixes, tracks, and some playful speculation: If you were going to make a platform for DJ mixes in 2024, what would it look like?

Mixes are a unique type of musical expression. They capture a specific moment in time, determined by the knowledge and style of the artist. A mix is as important a creative statement as an album, remix or EP. One mix can change an artist’s career, one mix can open a listener’s mind to something completely new.

Next up in our mix series is Shoal, a Dutch producer and DJ who recently relocated to Prague. Known for his hypnotic, emotionally layered sound, Shoal crafts deep, transportive journeys through trippy textures, modular synthesizers, and rolling rhythms. A core member of the ISOTOOP collective, he’s performed at leading underground spots like De School, Tresor, and Ratherlost. His releases on labels like Tikita, Harmony Recordings, Monument, our own Ute.Rec, and most recently Animalia, continue to expand and refine his unique sonic voice within the scene.

In this mix, Shoal delivers a 1.5-hour live set full of acid-dripping techno, spacey atmospheres, and heads-down minimalism. It’s a slow-burning, carefully building mix that captures the raw live sounds and subtle depth that define his sound. A live-set working just as much the mind as the body.

Iffie is a dj & founder of “Into The Abyss” podcast series, based in Athens.
Her sound explores dark and deep elements with an affinity for modern techno.
She loves making her sets as cohesive as possible, intertwining ambient & deep techno by leaving no room for sudden transitions.
In 2020 she founded “Into The Abyss”. Through her widely-acclaimed platform she contributes to the scene with podcasts & premieres of new releases, promoting & supporting various artists & labels.

About the mix:
"This one hour mix moves through ambient and experimental sounds with a personal touch. It was recorded during a time of change, and that feeling shaped the flow. The mood is emotional and reflective, built around soft textures, slow shifts and quiet intensity. It’s less about structure and more about capturing a moment. We're thrilled to finally share the recording of his set that night at Low Profile Studios, so you can relive the dancefloor magic. Over the course of two and a half hours, you'll hear Gary’s mastery in full effect as he glides through Italo deep cuts, proto-house meltdowns, space-disco voyages and much, much more.
