My music vision is to perform my songs & share with others the healing, comfort & joy that I’ve received from writing & playing them, with the goal of connecting & lifting our spirits.
A Brooklyn native & long-time respected professional musician, Andy’s had a wide range of music experience in the NYC area. He’s played sax & sung background vocals in R&B, Blues, Rock & Big Bands in such venues as SOB’s, Damrosch Park @ Lincoln Center, Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Bandshell, The Bitter End, The Limelight & Tramps… &, yes, he’s played in a few wedding bands.
Andy’s passion for music goes back as far as he can remember. He sang as a kid in school, with his seven siblings around the campfire & later with other teens on Brooklyn street corners. At 14, he found his first guitar in a garbage can. The big hole in the back didn’t daunt him - he replaced three missing strings with fishing line & taught himself to play.
At NYC’s High School of Art & Design (A&D), he played alto sax in the dance & concert bands & bassoon in the orchestra. He also sang in A&D’s folk group. As a teen & while attending college at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, he also played sax, rhythm guitar & vocals in local East Flatbush bands.
Six years ago, Andy started writing & singing his own songs. Inspired by life events from the tragic, premature deaths of two younger brothers to finding the love of his life at age 49, he found song-writing healing, joyful & surprising. He sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night hearing the music for an entire song & runs to record it on his iPhone! Moving, funny & reflective, Andy’s indie/folk songs convey his unique perspective on life through humor, joy & heartache.

Steve Ball music features gentle, textural, hummable songs arranged for multiple voices and interlocking acoustic guitars. Steve's live shows feature an exceptional blend of musical influences including Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists, Steve Reich, Kate Bush, Simon and Garfunkle, Jonatha Brooke, U2, Pete Townshend, David Byrne, Richard Thompson, the Cars, the Church, U2, Yes, and Peter Gabriel.

From 1996-2006, The Steve Ball Roadshow (SBRS) played in and all around the Seattle area in different configurations, both acoustic and electric. 

The SBRS lineup recorded and released a box set featuring three full length CDs -- 45 new songs from their live repertoire:

•The first CD ("Roadshow") features original acoustic math-pop short story songs arranged for multiple voices, multiple guitars, drums and percussion. 
•The second CD ("Naïve Melodies") features obscure but familiar songs clothed in unique arrangements for multiple voices and multiple guitars. 
•The third CD ("Knotwork") features ambient textures and remixed instrumental versions of some of the songs on the first two CDs.

This 3-CD release "SBBS" is the Steve Ball Box Set.

In 2012, Steve also released an even more ambitious project, "SBSB" (Steve Ball Sketch Box) - three CDs featuring 48 new songs, plus a bonus DVD featuring 96 mp3s and 9 SD and HD videos from his repertoire. details: http://www.steveball.com/SBSB 

Each of the songs in SBSB started as improvised seeds that blossomed into the 48 new tracks that make up the set. 

In 2013, Steve released a new book/CD package called "Motion Study" with longtime collaborator Paul O'Rear. Steve also completed an iPad app to accompany the physical book/CD.  details: http://www.steveball.com/C3 

C3 continues to play live shows throughout the Seattle area, and Steve in spring 2014, he is beginning a new set of 'odd pop' solo recordings with special guests (a host of famous / previous collaborators) from around the globe.

Brooke Lynn McGowan is a singer-songwriter currently based in NYC. She draws inspiration from her background in Musical Theater, and artists such as Sandy Denny, Joni Mitchell and Carole King. She began performing at the age of 8 at Centenary College in a company called the Young Performers Workshop (YPW). She performed in the tri-state region as a teenager, notably with the CityKids Repertory Company and in cabarets at venues such as Don't Tell Mama's. After receiving her BA in Theater Studies & Musical Theater at Montclair State University, Brooke began singing with the rock band “Loud Day” in 2009. Realizing that she wanted to find her voice and sing her own songs, she began writing and performing at open mics in the East Village. After a time of performing professionally, recording a CD of standards called "Maybe This Time" and teaching music in the San Francisco Bay Area, she has returned to NYC. Brooke is in progress writing a musical and recording an album of her original songs. She is also currently the co-host of the Christopher Street Coffeehouse open mic.
