As some of you might have guessed by now, music is incredibly important to me. I can't imagine not having the ability to express my creativity and discover more about myself through music; I've always had the option of studying, creating, and performing on musical instruments. I don't know where I would be if my family hadn't been economically able to provide me with all those opportunities. 

Therefore, I think it's important for me to give back. I want to do what I can to help make such opportunities available for people that otherwise couldn't afford them. In an ideal world, monetary barriers wouldn't hinder anyone's ability to experience self-discovery, creativity, and personal growth through music. Although this may only be a small contribution, hopefully I can help lift some of those barriers by donating any money generated by my new single "Everchanging", which comes out on Monday, to VH1 Save The Music Foundation. This is the main title theme of "EXODE" a web series for TV5 directed by Jesse Malcolm Sweet (part Les Enfants Terribles film crew). The full soundtrack was composed by Le Matos and will be available late 2016.

About "EXODE" :
David, a celestial cartographer, suddenly awakens from hypostasis when his emergency escape pod is ejected from its long-range mothership, the ASCE-Atlas. Trapped in a space the size of a coffin, he will have to survive in the vacuum that surrounds him. With the help of LEO, an artificial intelligence, David must try to reconnect with his relatives still trapped aboard the Atlas and save them from imminent death.

**Waveshaper side project Announcement**

10 years ago I had a project called Position Zero. An electro / techno / minimal / FX thing with
inspiration from The Chemical Brothers / The Prodigy / early 80s electro stuff. 
I have now decided to wake up the project

I am mainly using my ARP 2600 together with the Oberheim DX drum machine (and also some
Jupiter 4. ;) ). The sound is analog-minimalistic & fat. 

Why this side project?
-Waveshaper is always my main project but I needed something else to vary myself a bit 
in sound to gain creativity. 
-Position Zero will be too different from the space 80s / melodic / cinematic Waveshaper project. 

The first single -Autonomous- drops now on January 15.

BACK FOR GOOD – Gymnastics EP (TURN IT DOWN MUSIC)
The third release from burgeoning Berlin-based label Turn it Down comes at us from label head Matthias Speck aka Back for Good. Also known as the man behind the Mancha label, Speck’s sound revolves around an uncompromising take on raw, unpolished electronic cuts, the likes of which have been tailor made with the dancefloor’s most fervent moments in mind. The Gymnastics EP is proof of his production prowess. Displaying the sort of nimble, carefree and fun-loaded sounds often displayed by the likes of DJ Fett Burger and his compatriot Skatebard, this is house music that boasts personality but is also keen not to take itself too seriously.
 
Kicking off the release is the sounds of the title track, ‘Gymnastics’. A gnarly, synth heavy track that will breathe life into any set it’s allowed to roam free in, it’s the sort of cut you’ll be humming long after the night has drawn to a close. Full of zippy, dextrous sounds and deceptively simple, this baseline-led anthem might be classic in structure yet still manages to portray a forward-facing ethos.
Next up is the remix, which comes at us courtesy of Betonkust. Although his effort is a far cry from the original, it too is never lacking in heart. Full of shiny, glistening, almost camp vibes, it’s the sort of smile-inducing record that could just as easily have come out on eclectic labels a la Running Back or Hivern Discs. A truly momentous way to polish the original, it’s hardly surprising Betonkust has been siding up alongside Palmboman and playing the likes of Dekmantel of late.
 
Last but not least is Back for Good’s second original, the aptly named ‘Wasted’. An engaging but stifling and at times uncomfortable track, it’s the sort of lo-fi cut that gets under your skin in all the right ways. A fine foil to matters elsewhere, it signs off the EP with rich aplomb. A fascinating insight into the mind of two producers we’re sure to be hearing more from soon, Turn it Down’s latest is a truly impressive one.

Felix has been working his Studio hard this past summer and caned out a whole bunch of awesomeness! We are more than pleased to welcome him back on Dirt Crew this year after his excellent new EP on “Bobby Donny” and the “Buster” jam for our “Deep Love 2018” compilation.

The A-side starts off with “Between US”, a cool, pump-y and jazzy track with a hypnotic tribal bongo rhythm that winds up in that typical Leifur swirl. Followed by the super deep “Hamburg 3011” that flicks an off-beat mash up of soul, guitar samples and funk hi-hat vs snare groove that is just irresistible dance floor goodness, we can’t wait to drop this on a massive sound system.

Over to the musical world of that B-side! What can we say, Felix changed his style quite a lot here and delivers some bang on Electro with “Pinot Noir 1985” that just bounces in yer face with a dope ass beat keeping those typical Leifur flavors alive with a warped piano loop and delayed vocal snips. Second is the almost garage-y tune “Modern Soul Classics” with massive subs underlaying the “Rhodes” and drum cut ups, moody and deep in his signature style. The closing track is a real Icelandic Bossa Nova affair! Silky ‘n smooth again he works that piano loop towards eternity, we love this piece a lot! Reminding us of past 90s electronica by the likes of “Sabres of Paradise” or “Nightmares on Wax”. The best ending to this EP we could have hoped for!
