This is a mixtape of beats I compulsively wrote over a period of 2 weeks to fight a creative block working on a drone EP (there’s more tracks that didn’t make it on this one and the EP is ready)

It includes collected field recordings over a period of 2 years(e.g a neighbor that blasted “Indian?” music from across a river every evening early summer 2021, a traffic jam on the Saida corniche, a random conversation with a friend about using a device to record his piano jams…) a bootleg of Sheikha Rmitti’s “N’ta Goudami” and an excerpt from an interview with Nahla Chahal talking about the never ending struggle of life.

Black and White (Demo Version)

This piece is a part of the "Bourj Hammoud Psychogeographic Exploration Beirut #3", A collaboration between artists Youssef Tabti and Rani Al Rajji. 

I mapped the part of Armenia street stretching from the Beirut river to Tunefork Studios on the coastal highway. It's a route I walk at least twice a week for work, usually with my headphones on, limiting my perception of the surroundings. 

I used field recordings taken at different times of the day, mixing them with drums and guitars to create a sonic piece that reflects the alienation i feel vis a vis the seemingly tight community and its busy inhabitants.

Detour Zaghtour/ Bourj Hammoud psychogeographic exploration

"Murur Al-Kiram", the new album by Lebanese post-rock ensemble KINEMATIK, uses electronics, intricate double-drumming, guitar and bass to construct ambient soundscapes and hypnotic, propulsive rhythms - conjuring the ghosts of a diminishing future, as well as an unresolved past. Subtle in both angst and joy, "Murur Al-Kiram" celebrates small victories in the face of great defeats.
