Mont Michel Archives is a 14-track collection of songs that I wrote years ago, but never put out.

I’m a perfectionist, so I never thought any of these songs were good enough to release when I made them. But over the last year or so, I’ve been finding my voice again. And in the process, I’ve revisited a lot of my earlier material. Some of it still hit for me as these little snapshots of a specific time and place. Almost like the energy was bottled up and just never opened.

Being so far removed from these songs for so long let me hear them again more objectively, almost like for the first time again. Like looking through junk in your parents’ basement from your childhood — it felt familiar, but almost like it belonged to a different person at the same time. I figured maybe it was worth setting them free.

So I’m giving these songs the chance I didn’t back when I wrote them. As you’ll hear if you listen, some tracks are fully realized, some are close to finished, and some are just voice memos of fleeting ideas I never completed. It’s raw, unpolished, and a bit fragmented — but that feels right to me.
