DEMON$ is the joint effort of OG MCHL, of the <a href="https://soundcloud.com/doomcanal/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">DOOM CANAL</a> collective, and <a href="https://soundcloud.com/RAINEY-all-caps/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">RAINEY</a>, or RAINEYallcaps. MCHL refers to himself as the "Doom Canal prime minister," as he and his affiliates tare through instrumentals with an abstract spoken-word style of rhyme. Poetic, to say the least, Doom Canal, and front man OG MCHL, serve up something sinister in their almost auto-biographical tales of terror. Their fan base is just as disturbed as they are, and worship their cultish don't-give-a-fuck attitude with the highest regard. RAINEY, who is more reluctant, (and until now known to be a solo-artist, with only a few features here and there) has a flow that earns the respect of hip-hop enthusiasts, and appeals to every crowd from the anime-obsessed nerds to project goons. He embodies the elements of mental instability and often personifies a person who cares about his surroundings and wants the best for his fellow man, while other times contrasting that mentality with a murderous flow that will make your blood boil and your hair stand on end. Together, their contrast and compliment each other's style and bring a new kind of dark trip-hop poetry that is out of this world, with RAINEY's fiendish aggression and MF DOOM-influenced villainy welded into MCHL's ghoulish poetic ambience, DEMON$ is in fact an appropriate and bone-chilling name for these tyrants.
