We are a collaboration of artists, healers, dreamers, believers and doers that have come together in celebration of life. Our collective efforts for social change and planet preservation in combination with creativity expressed through various forms of art is shaping a new global consciousness of intentional living and gathering. 
Music and dance have long been understood to have healing powers among tribes. Shamans created rituals involving dance because it is believed to release the bodies own healing energies. Using repetitive beats achieves a state of trance or meditation, and in this altered state of consciousness we are freed to make deeper connections to oneself, others, and nature. Today we still dance to the beat of the shamanic drums. With the fusion of ancient wisdom and modern technology a new community has emerged taking the art of healing to the dance floor, and beyond. The electronic music dance culture is sweeping the globe and participants are finding the power of transformation that lies within when one seeks music as their medicine. Inspired by the healing effects of releasing and connecting through dance we are called to return to our Tribal Roots. Only from our roots are we able to grow, and live once again as a loving cooperative community. 
Our ethos is unity through sound, the universal language understood by all. Our offering to humanity is sacred dance so that we may become whole with the experience of oneness and dissolve the illusion of separation. Now more than ever in a world that is so divided we need our cultural medicine. We are Tribal Roots, and we bring you sounds that heal!

Residing at the intersection of house and techno, DETOUR is a Pittsburgh collective that creates visually and sonically immersive experiences. DETOUR seeks to act as a junction where both seasoned and newly-interested enthusiasts of house and techno can come together for an experience of both sight and sound.
