DISCOTECA NEGRA releases 'Schwarz' EP with Berlin's artist Piska Power.

Inspired by the book "Traumdeutung" by Freud, Piska Power creates a memorable Proto-Techno piece incorporating elemental soundscapes with his signature sound, this time with nuances on references of the late 80s like D.A.F., Liaisons Dangereuses or Einstürzende Neubauten.
      
Label head Ignacio Rosa joins to the EP with a Remix version with a heavy input of Dark Disco and New Beat for the big rooms.

The Mission

Channeling peak-era dark garage ambience and contemporary trance stomper technology in the same breath, on their debut collaboration Silhouette (AKA Vision of 1994) and Kobayashi Maru join forces on Amphibian Records for The Mission, a 4-track EP that airlifts the snarl and frayed temper of early dubstep into the psychedelic frontiers of modern dance music.

On the A1, the title track’s driving 140BPM two-step thunder, scored with doomy metallic bellowing reminiscent of early Distance and a rolling bassline right out of Big Apple’s playbook; on the flip, Last Transmission’s frosty atmospherics and crisper-than-snow UKG-inflected percussion, a sharp retort on every third beat superimposed onto a trance-techno model.

Two lower-tempo cuts kiss each runout groove, with no lessening up in sound pressure. Winter Outpost is at the last of its tensile strength, neo-noir synths pulled skin tight over a frame of sharpened breakbeat, while End Credits shakes it all loose with a serpentine beat, a note of wistful melancholia belying the weight behind its punch.

Four cuts of divergent dance music, shaped by the waters that fed Amphibian Records’ tastes — dubstep, garage, techno, trance, trip-hop, etcetera — but charting new territory on the cusp of the known.

Kobayashi Maru is a Prague-based producer & DJ who moves sound with psy/tek flavour, techno and bass influence, organic textures and complex, pacey rhythms. A member of the Amphibian collective, Kobayashi Maru also creates music and performs live as the duo DDAT, with atch22. He is also associated with Prague’s Ankali nightclub, where he works and performs.

Silhouette, aka Vision of 1994, has made an indelible impact on the Czech nightlife scene over many years as a shapeshifting DJ and producer, through his sets and productions developing a sound rooted in the UK spirit with an Eastern European temperament.

Fro - Last Day

On June 27, 2025, a long-dormant signal reactivates from Hamburg's hidden places: Helena Hauff and F#X return as Black Sites with R4 on Tresor Records—their first full-length album and the first release under the moniker since 2014. Like a hieroglyphic recently discovered and translated, R4 feels more like a long-awaited resumption than a comeback.

Recorded to tape with minimal editing or post-production the record is a classic example of the symbiotic relationship that can come from the interaction of human and machine. This punk ethos isn't invoked through distortion alone, but through method; in the album's breaking from the received wisdom of hardness tethered to speed as most of the tougher pieces are lower BPM and vice versa (with one notable exception in the mind-melting stomp of BLOKK).

Across ten tracks, Black Sites traverse a landscape where genre dissolves into intention. It migrates through electro's danceability, acid house's corrosion, and into the liminal realm of machine funk—a genre coined by Andrew Weatherall, which sounds like the results of technology dreaming of soul where the emphasis is on live execution, on immediacy over perfection—a sound forged in the act of creating, not polishing.

In a 2013 interview, around the time of the first Black Sites EP, Hauff was quoted as saying that she wants "things to fit together properly, but on another level, I really want them to make sense together." That principle animates R4: The album's form reveals itself in time, with each movement echoing and amplifying the others to create a synergistic whole.

From the opening crawl of C4 (a name that like the music foreshadows the explosions to come) to the end-of-the-night bliss of MOTHERJAM via the intense peaks of BLOKK, 707, and classic acid track 3D it's clear that R4 is a work made with serious intent; a refutation of a world where streaming has made the two-minute single the dominant musical form again. R4 demands immersion, not just attention. It is not a collection of tracks, but a singular, recursive experience: a mirror in which sound and listener repeatedly rediscover one another.

Pride Or Die is Dalmata Daniel's new fundraiser compilation released in solidarity with Budapest Pride.

In March 2025, the Hungarian Parliament rewrote the country’s assembly law, tightening the rules for all public demonstrations — with wording clearly aimed at shutting down Pride. The amendment threatens marchers and organisers with fines of up to €500 and allows police to deploy facial‑recognition systems. It follows a 2020 ban on legal gender recognition and the 2021 law censoring LGBTQ+ content for minors.

Meanwhile, the government continues targeting civil organisations more broadly, signalling an even darker outlook for the future of democratic rights and community spaces in Hungary.

To answer this attack on basic civil and queer rights, Dalmata Daniel teamed up with 34 artists from Hungary and across the globe to contribute exclusive tracks. The result is a diverse, powerful collection that channels solidarity, resistance, and care through sound.

All proceeds will be donated to the Budapest Pride Foundation.

A twisted and acerbic collision of breaks, electro and UK rave. 'Cruising' has alarm sounds and blistering synth textures running through saw-tooth bass and big breaks. 'PIGMENTOR' is all acidic and chuggy while 'The Looper" is heads down, feet marching electro-techno. 'Good Bye' brings some electrified disco futurism to the party for a more colourful and outwardly expressive closer.

The 5th installation of Power Station, this time from the unused tunnels of Berlin's U-Bahn. A first time artist release for us as himself and vice versa - metaphorically but not limited to reality.

German born, Stefan (wunder) Junge aka Piska Power is Med student by day and neurotic composer by night which is clearly examined and demonstrated with his 6 track ‘Landung’ ep.

Opening song ‘Riemen' (Belt) floats way above the cosmos, now? the future ? or is it before the beginning of anything? which metaphysically speaking, in the grand scheme of everything is nothing… Bursts and cosmic collision peripherate through-out the track for a final gas explosion, Earth? ‘Kette' gives us early signs of life, deep in the water - a 6 and half minute motorik Marimba jam, incubating at 80bpm. ‘Flöha' washes you ashore, a tiny speck of un-ware living matter exploring the land, the slow heartbeat pulsating you through and the strike of the Toms hark the call for evolution.

Flip over to B1 and you have ‘Umgehung', Stefan has fast tracked human evolution, the pulsating modular sequence slowly mutating all the while at its core remaining the same, a reference to the primal condition of the Homo-sapien. A dark turn, ARAS travels deep into the unsound (albeit temporary) human psyche, dealing with all the negative effects of this thing we call LIFE. ARAS also comes with a self help voice guide courtesy of Dr Junge (Nur Deutsch) and finally LANDUNG, closes up this journey of an EP, you have arrived!
