"Exactly one year after his 2020 release entitled Dunklewissenschaft, DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2020 and early 2021. This 25-track album is another obvious thematic tribute, only this time he chose to pay homage to the writing of the socialist revolutionary Karl Marx. Every song title is a nod to the German philosopher's economic and political theory. Even the album cover borrows directly from Marx, re-adapting the original cover of the 1848 pamphlet entitled 'The Communist Manifesto'."

DISCOTECA NEGRA releases 'Schwarz' EP with Berlin's artist Piska Power.

Inspired by the book "Traumdeutung" by Freud, Piska Power creates a memorable Proto-Techno piece incorporating elemental soundscapes with his signature sound, this time with nuances on references of the late 80s like D.A.F., Liaisons Dangereuses or Einstürzende Neubauten.
      
Label head Ignacio Rosa joins to the EP with a Remix version with a heavy input of Dark Disco and New Beat for the big rooms.

'Eiter Mit Stulle' is a 6 track EP/ Mini LP - A nod to the working class, the ones building our future, for the better. The opening track 'Stulle' simply yet cleverly names all of the main metro station districts of Berlin, underscoring the juxtaposition of most working-class people commuting daily with the homelessness. All walks of life being forced to interact. 'Eiter' and 'Grad III' turn it up and inside out whilst flipping to the B side, 'Eine Man Eine Frau' intro's us to a less club focused remainder of this EP. 'Joyeuse Bureau' is a synth wave post punk masterpiece and lastly apt, 'Strigoi' is about a love that changed the life of a miserable individual.

After 5 years of 'Fortnightly Freebies' columns collating our favourite free downloads, we decided to do things a bit differently for the 100th chapter. Introducing 'Big Material', a 19-track 'name your price' compilation that will donate 100% of profits made to Stonewall Housing, a London-based charity supporting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

At a time when unfair austerity is increasing inequality and leaving so many behind, we hope to support a community that has given so much to the 'scene' and music we love. Digi-dub abstractions and drifting ambient to kaleidoscopic breaks and newly-coined genre, 'subtle donk', it's a pretty accurate microcosm of the If-Only curation as a whole.
