[UPDATE] 

This album was originally organized with the idea to build a science lab at Shree Prabhat Higher Secondary School in Dhawa, Gorkha, Nepal. Unfortunately the 7.9 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal the day after release, destroying most of Dhawa, including the school. The country needs billions in funds to recover from this tragic event and in our small way, we are redirecting our efforts through this project to create a fund for rebuilding Dhawa. PLEASE consider donating to our cause in exchange for a cutting-edge music compilation and help us restore normality to a highly vulnerable community.

Alix & his friends come back victorious to their village.

The supplies gathered from the Engine Steeling will come in handy & the Essence harvested will appease the Harvesters & replenish the vigour of the villagers.

The day after, the young ones gather for the next challenge: The rite of Community.

The town elder, grandfather of Rey, guides them to the resting grounds.

Here their ancestors lie buried, though not completely dead.

Their spirit lives on in their Essence, buried with them.

People of the tribes can summon their spirit, to ask for guidance, to see their loved ones once again. Until their Essence is completely depleted, their connection to the Rings & the Harvesters is lost.

Now, Alix, Rey & Dao must learn how to summon their ancestors in their pursuit of their Calling.

The Elder is pleased and the worries of the villagers lulled. 
Dao looks forward to their next challenge, but the others would rather cower.
In the Rite of Survival, they will have to stay alive for one day and one night in the wild;
teeming with feral beast and worse, vicious Steelings. 
The Elder - as guided by the Ring -  sends them to the Mire, a haunted bog deep within the forest.The black water there is vilified by all tribes. For reasons unknown, it seems to nullify the enhancements granted by the Ring. Or worse: completely draining bodies.

The young ones barely escaped the Mire alive. If Dao hadn’t slayed the snake-like Steeling, inhabiting the noxious waters, they
wouldn’t have lived to tell the tale.
Severely drained, the young ones rest until they feel ready for the next challenge: The Rite of Passion. The premise is simple: they
are tasked to find an activity that elevates their spirit, which fills them with passion until they become one with the moment.
Until they can empty their minds & receive the mark of passion from the Ring.
The execution, however, is far from easy. Young minds are like a pool full of hungry fish: difficult to quench & still.

The third edition of Microfunk Music’s coveted ‘Lost Dubs’ series is finally here. Featuring 10 rhythmic glitch patterns from the Russian labels usual suspects, you can expect compositions from Synkro, Oak, Hybris, Akuratyde, Dissident, Kharm, Jason oS and of course label boss Bop. Many things slip through the sands of time, but thankfully these beautiful songs will know no such fate. The introductory ‘Time’ from Manchester's Synkro is laden with a hopeful sadness, as melancholic sonics reverberate beautifully from start to finish. You could be forgiven for thinking this may set the tone for the LP to come, but what follows is a compendium of beautifully crafted musical delights, as varied in character and constitution as the seasons themselves.

A frequent partner of Bop as both a performer and artist, Oak graces the imprint once more with a deep electro cut ‘The Bay’ and tells a down-tempo tale in ‘Airwalk’, which is available to download upon pre-ordering the full LP. Rampant in it’s sheer textural beauty, the likes of Elsewhere follow suit with an expansive and heart-fluttering take on the 170BPM tempo in the form of ‘Procession’. Things take a techy turn as Jason oS delivers an introspective stepper in his ‘Hidden State’, but not before Akuratyde and Kharm weave their own atmospheric wonder ‘Enamoured’.

Although never fearful of pushing the boundaries or confinements within the D&B universe, Microfunk Music remains true to the genre that inspired it with the likes of Hybris injecting his trademark sonics into a sublimely styled technoid roller. Abstract Elements keep things stepping in a similar vein with ‘Throb’, whilst St. Petersburg's very own Dissident enthralls the listener with their hypnotic addition ‘Bathyscaphe’.

Hybris - Make My Drink

A label undefinable by genre and rather by attitude, Moscow’s Hyperboloid Records have paved their way with an unwavering focus in curation. With a catalogue stretching back as far as 2008, Hyperboloid have continually sewn together futuristic productions and aesthetics, all the while building a family of artists who rep this same forward-facing mentality. 

A regular appearance within this sizable discography is Berlin sound artist, cadeu. Together with Hyperboloid, they now prep the forthcoming album ‘hy’; named after the label. This new body of work arrives without any conceptual forms inside, instead playing with space, composition and syncopation of moving parts. 

In ‘omg’, cadeu intricately weaves jagged glitch with a smooth and moody dancehall-esque refrain. An intensive skit-style track, hitting in a way that is as much body-jilting as it is brain-blowing.

Taken from Poztman's latest project; "Rites Of Calling" which tells the story of a group of young adults in a very distant future, needing to accomplish five challenges as passage rites; not only to prove their worth in their community or to prove they are worthy to be considered as mature adults, but to find their calling in life. Sonically, the tracks merge folk & tribal elements with futuristic drum & bass, while each track explores different levels of intensity based on theme.

Alix is somewhat confused by the cryptic advice his ancestors gave him. 
He doesn’t need to worry, as no one can triumph all challenges equally. 
The Rites serve as guidance for one’s adult life, to find their Calling. 
A rite is passed when the Ring blesses the challenger with the according mark. 
Dao’s attempt at summoning was near to fruitless, though Rey managed seemingly without effort. 
All received the mark of community nonetheless, as the way of the Rings & the Harvesters is mysterious.
Alix feels confident in the next challenge: the Rite of Cunning. He & his friends will have to enter the Birthing Grounds, the place where their first ancestors long dead came to live, out of machines made by the Harvesters.
Here they will have to access the ancient codex, a gift from the Harvesters. 
The village Elder asked them to find out where other hunting grounds may lay, as the village’s supply starts to dwindle. 
The Codex must contain that knowledge, the Elder is confident.
Alix knows the task seems trivial, but Steelings guard the place for unwelcome trespassers. 
The young ones will have to prove their cunning.
