Perhaps more than any of the other residents, Yak has managed to carve out a distinctive sound for himself focusing on intertwining rumbling sub bass and intricate rhythms, all of which can be heard throughout his DJ sets and productions. The mix sees him seamlessly blend an hour of his signature style featuring unreleased exclusives from himself, Vern & Milla, Lack and Circular Jaw label mates Agrippa, Foxmind & Yilan. It’s a winning combination, with his productions being championed by the Swamp 81 and Livity Sound crews and with several releases in the pipeline (including his Version release which can be heard in the mix), a bright future lies ahead for Yak in the near future...

18 year old Sheffield based DJ and producer 96 Back, a.k.a. Evan Majumdar-Swift, steps up for the next entry in to our mix series. This lad is one to watch, in a very big way! Demonstrating a maturity way beyond his years as a producer and having already secured his first major release on Sheffield's excellent Central Processing Unit / CPU Records, his tracks are ethereal electro bombs and they're really getting noticed. He's very quickly finding his feet as a DJ too, having recently recorded his own scintillating audio only Boiler Room. The 39th instalment of our mix series comes from Berlin-based DJ and producer Neinzer; an artist who's been getting himself noticed recently with standout releases on labels including Batu's Timedance and Bradley Zero's International Black. We're expecting big things from him next year based on his recent production form and he's a wicked and versatile DJ too, so we've been excited to hear this one for a while now. The mix starts off with some atmospheric ambient, classical and percussive bits, before easing itself into a more energetic array of off-kilter house and techno. Featuring music from the likes of object blue and Airhead as well as from previous guests Bruce and Laksa, it's an hour of listening pleasure that's guaranteed to make your day that little bit better.

The 40th mix in our series comes from Manchester-based duo Blasha & Allatt. As two of four founding members of Meat Free, Steffi and Tash have made a vital contribution to their adopted city’s dance music culture over the last five years and are now also starting to make a real name for themselves as DJs both around the UK and in Europe. The recognition is very well deserved as this blistering mix demonstrates, slamming through 24 brilliant selections in just over an hour and never letting up in either energy or class for even a second. Blending linear 4/4 rhythms with a load of more broken, skippy records, it features music new and old from artists including Objekt, Stenny, Solid Blake and Blue Hour

The 41st edition of our mix series comes from Nadia Anderson and Rosie Cain, a.k.a. Dimensions Festival DJ Directory affiliated and Balamii Radio regulars Kiara Scuro. The duo have been popping up all over the place of late with appearances at Dimensions, Gottwood and most recently as part of Red Bull's 'Get Down Early' series which saw Legowelt warm up for them at Corsica Studios. We're expecting huge things from the talented pair in 2019 and we're thrilled to have them contributing to our mix series with this absolute cracker. Slightly lighter in mood than their usual offerings and including an incredible selection of chuggy tracks from the likes of Roza Terenzi, Zombies in Miami and Balam, it's very much appropriate for either day time or night time listening.

For the 42nd instalment of our mix series we've invited Ukraine's Roman K into the fold. With absolutely impeccable mixing and selection, the hour of pure bliss shows just why he's so fully deserving of his status as a resident DJ at Kiev's renowned Closer nightclub, where he regularly plays alongside and impresses the biggest and best DJs in the world. Primarily on an electro tip and featuring music from the likes of Lawrence, Silicon Scally a.k.a. Carl Finlow and Gerd, this outstanding contribution to the series kicks 2019 off in style while showing us all exactly what Roman's about and why we're expecting to hear his name a lot more over the next 12 months.

The 43rd entry into our mix series sees Native Response label head Nathan Surreal showing us what he's made of. The Amsterdam native and recent Sheffield import is responsible for the creation and curation of Kommune back in his home city - a fantastic music platform that boasts a regular Red Light Radio show and a podcast series of its own. Jensen Interceptor a.k.a. Mikey Melas is an absolute diamond and is somebody we've quickly grown very fond of since meeting him in Bristol back in September when eh played for us at The Island. It was a ridiculously good night with an exceptional amount of energy on the dance floor and the Sydney native absolutely killed it on the closing set after Peach and 96 Back. He very recently moved to Berlin, meaning we expect to be hearing a lot more from him in 2019, and one of his first tasks since making the jump over to Europe was to record this mix for us. It's an honour to host it and he really hasn't disappointed either. Tracks from the likes of Carl Finlow, Delta Funktionen, DJ Normal 4 and several of his own productions ensure that this high octane mix never lets up in energy, not even for a second. Will Lister submits PPGMIX047 with a whirlwind hour of broken tech house energy. The Dimensions DJ Directory and Balamii Radio resident is an outstanding DJ and a lovely guy too, so it's an absolute pleasure to have him on board as we approach our 50th mix. We hadn't heard Will DJ live for a while when we trotted up into The Clearing at Dimensions Festival back in August to see him, and on that day he completely blew us away with his wonky rhythms and broken beats on one of the best outdoor festival main stage sound systems you're likely to find. Since then we've been nagging him to put a mix together for us and this absolute beauty is the final result, featuring plenty of unreleased and undisclosed tracks including at least one of his own.

The captivating GiGi FM steps up for the 48th edition of our mix series with the ritualistic 'Mercury Retrograde'. Dancer, Netil Radio resident, techno futurist, trap enthusiast, DAW enchanter, GEM (Gestural Electronic Music Collective) founder; she's many things, but she's also a stunningly good DJ with a true talent for hypnotising with her sounds. In her own words: 'This mix is my feels from the month of Mercury, in retrograde. It's a reflection of my cosmic journey during the month and of my need for its healing frequencies. It's the coming of the Worm Moon on the same day as the Equinox.' Just take a listen and it'll all make sense - serious healing powers are on display with this one.

PPGMIX049 has landed from London-via-Sheffield based Proteus. After catching her play for our good friends Control in a 100 capacity archway lock-up in Sheffield back in January, underneath some train tracks, we knew right away that we wanted to ask her to contribute to our mix series. It was a brilliant party, a brilliant set and, thankfully, she said yes so now we have a brilliant mix on our hands too. Here he is... Smorsli a.k.a. Dr Smors a.k.a. The Smiling Assassin steps up for our 50th (?!) mix, marking the half-century milestone with a signature blend of all things nice; it's a cracker. Recorded using two turntables, the legendary Behringer DDM4000 mixer, a pile of records and a two time-code vinyls, he runs through genres and styles like there's no tomorrow. Gaunt steps up for the 51st edition of our mix series with a brilliantly eclectic and experimental mix that constantly and unexpectedly shifts its focus whilst still remaining coherent throughout. His production has really been catching our attention of late, most notably his split Glass Talk EP with Gramrcy, so we've been very excited to see what he's come up with for his mix. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes and featuring music from some brilliant artists including Dan HabarNam, Nidia Minaj and Bruce, plus several of Gaunt's own productions, it's an essential listen.

PPGMIX052 comes from Berlin-based DJ and producer Peter Fonda. We met Pete around 6 months ago and were immediately blown away by his infectious passion and enormous knowledge for music. After listening to just one of his mixes online, we knew immediately that we had to ask him to contribute to our series. What's he's delivered doesn't disappoint one bit - it's a sensational mix that's both driving and playful in equal measure and somehow manages to switch the mood up constantly throughout, but without ever seeming disjointed or rushed. The hour races by and features tracks from the likes of Lorenzo Senni, Shackleton, Beta Librae and Hiroshi Watanabe, alongside a few of Pete's own gorgeous productions, and is one of our favourite mixes to date.

South-east London regularly proves that it has some of the best musical talent in the capital and the 53rd edition of our mix series, from OK Williams, demonstrates just this. Having followed her radio shows for a while now, on Balamii, Netil and NTS, we've come to love her high energy sets and her seamless blending of anything from techno, electro and garage to bass, deconstructed club and jungle. As well as recent dates at Clair in Amsterdam and Cell 200 in London, this summer has already seen her taking her distinct flavours to festivals including Glastonbury and Love International with a set at the inaugural edition of Headroom just around the corner. We're thrilled to be hosting this mix from her, which forms a perfect snapshot of her sound and includes tracks from past and future PPG guests K-LONE, Ploy and Andy Garvey, as well as a track of her own which she co-produced with recent mix series contributor GiGi FM. PPGMIX054 comes from fast-rising London-based DJ and producer Alexis. After learning the tricks of the trade as a station assistant and resident at Peckham’s Balamii Radio, Alexis quickly realised that a career in DJing was the only path to pursue. In just a couple of years she's found herself playing at esteemed locations such as Printworks, Dimensions Festival, Mixmag Live, Baltic Weekender and The Pickle Factory to name just a few. Having lived in Dubai, Amsterdam and Houston at different points her in life, London is her home for the time being, and making a very natural step into production more recently, she looks ready to blow up any moment now (keep an eye out for her debut EP early next year). PPGMIX055 comes from London and South-West based DJ Liv Ayers. The Rhythm Sister affiliated artist recently turned in a guest mix for NTS Radio as part of their International Women's Day programme, and it was this exceptional mix which really caught our attention - it bangs. Fresh from performances at Kala and Love International this Summer, and gaining more and more thoroughly deserved recognition of late, this mix is Liv journeying through different genres and styles. Flowing beautifully and featuring a whole host of wicked tracks from the likes of Ectomorph, Photonz and Nathan Micay, it makes for a fine addition to our series.

PPGMIX056 comes from Bristol's Jess Farley, a.k.a. @jessica_dj. We saw Jess play for the first time earlier on this Summer at the inaugural Headroom, a festival she co-organises, and we were absolutely blown away by her set. Since then we've been itching to get her to contribute to our mix series, so we were especially excited to hear this one. It also marks a Rhythm Sister double header for the series after Liv Ayers recorded PPGMIX055 a few weeks back. It's an absolute belter, taking us through techno, house, bass and garage over the course of just under 90 minutes - pure energy throughout. We'll let Jess take it from here... 'When I record a mix I like to have a theme or a place and time in mind. It helps me to create a flow and gives context and meaning to the music for me. For this mix I’ve channeled a late night set in small dark club with the initial glow of dawn creeping in near the end. Loads of new music and some older records that I love plus some music from my home town Bristol.'
