For those of you there, it will bring back a few memories and if you weren't, here is a taste of just one room that night. You had to be there for the rest..........

Solid Steel Radio Show 3/1/2014 Part 3 + 4 - Mr Scruff + Illum Sphere

Solid Steel (10th January) This week it's our extended Solid Steel family member DJ Kentaro. Having released his Solid Steel mix CD in 2005 and two albums on Ninja Tune, he's one of the world's best turntablist who will rock the dancefloor alongside showcasing his turntable skills. He explodes into the New Year with a mix to wipe away any hangover cobwebs that may still be lurking. After kicking off with his own track Torus, it's onto the Flume remix for Hermitude and into a couple of Latin flavoured trap beats from Tropkillaz. He continues in a similar vein with music from Troyboi, TNGHT, UZ, Blanchez and Jackal, before easing slightly with Lindsay Lowend & Jonah Baseball, Lung, Culprate and Lone.

This was the lead track from the second TDJ 12”, ‘More From The Teenage Disco Vaults’. It was included on the ‘First Time In NYC @ APT’ mix, from back in 2005, which I uploaded here as exclusive content last week. Like all the Teenage DJ tracks it’s built around combinations of loops, in this case the three main ingredients are taken from three different decades – Dusty Springfield from the 60’s, Instant Funk from the 70’s and Yello from the 80’s.
