Thou burnest upon man

And with rebukes, You make to consume His beauty

Left me wounded and wearied and marred 
But Your Ruhama re-made, this rebel You paid for on Calvary

Now coming forth as gold
Yes, I can clearly behold
To You my darkness was day 
And You had Your way in the whirlwind 

Though I wanted it to come
And I asked it of God from above,
But I didn’t expect 
To be made perfect in the valley

Ah, now, the wilderness!
Yes, It all makes perfect sense!
Taking this worm
This way to conform to Your image 

The clear shining after the rain 
Oh Your beauty after the pain 
Let my eyes see
That my greatest need is Your glory 

I tried to see You but wouldn’t die 
Now from the ashes I do arise 
And on Your wings
I can sing of Your healing

The light now shines on Your face 
And now I can fully embrace
Your judgments for, 
You’ve made me more than a conqueror 

Oh it never was just for me,
But for Your judgments and praise to be declared and seen
Spiritually fulfilled, as You’ve literally willed soon to be:

You had nothing of which You ought 
For Your people was taken away for naught 
Howling each day  
And causing Your name to be blasphemed 

So for jealousy over this whore 
How you stirred Yourself up for the war
First through, then upon
The Great Babylon for Your purpose 

In fury You all things consumed 
To take away former things revealing the new
The trip treacherous
‘Twas saving the best - what an ending! 


From understanding I fell 
And debased myself lower than hell
But You asserted Your right 
And thus made me white through sore trial 

But now is the time of the end
And for the help of Thy people I'll spend and be spent
With Your dead body rise 
I shall sing the demise of Great Babylon
