44 minutes and 25 seconds of 10th-generation genre-re-wiring, exploring bass music through an open-minded lens, regardless of tempo, or even beat-structure… this sound clash aims straight for your body, with the intent to melt you down into a fidgeting, wobbling mess of enthusiasm and delight. In addition to some of my favorite old records and samples, this mix features several brand new bassnectar tracks, heaps of exclusive edits, re-edits, and re-re-re-edits. Lot’s of re. Lot’s of mix. Lot’s of edits. We tore our favorite drum &amp; bass to shreds, injected hip hop with some pogo-stick bass, amped up the tempo of dubstep, freaked out the gypsies, gave a nod to the dreamy 80’s and ended up similar to where we started off: omni-tempo maximalism strikes again.

It was a heartfelt art project, all for fun, all about the love. I had been studying electronic music at school for 5 years or so, and DJing mostly at underground raves, free full-moon gatherings, and festivals like Burning Man, Shambhala, etc...

The 34 track collection spans only a tiny corner of the label’s massive 100 album catalog, but still offers a healthy slice of the varied styles and artists that have collaborated with Gravitas over the years. Mix Notes : 

More than half way through making this mix, it started to sound "boring" and “expected” to me. It felt like I was rushing to meet a imaginary deadline. Around the same time, I had to listen to the first three of my mixes in this series for another thing I am working on. It’s been quite a while since I had listened to them from start to finish. I then realized how much I missed the deeper, darker tone evident in my earlier MIXES. That’s when I decided to trash the new mix and start all over again …..Hence, the main reason for the delay in getting it done.

Not much else to say except hoping that you’ll like the final result. As always, no attention is paid to how old, popular or how new and fresh a tune is – In another words : A mish mash as usual. The only thing that matters is the overall flow. Bonus Pack file has track listing and cover and sleeve artwork…..Enjoy.

Humans spend roughly one third of our lives asleep. Although we fundamentally understand that we need to sleep to survive, we know little about one of the quintessential aspects of sleep - dreams - and we invest relatively little time or money to try and learn more.

Rapid eye movement sleep or REM sleep is a unique phase of sleep in mammals and birds accompanied by vivid and highly visual dreams, and characterized physically by random rapid movement of the eyes, low muscle tone throughout the body, and irregular heart rate, blood flow, breathing rate, and body temperature.

This 45-minute mix is intended to evoke the peculiar, rapidly-changing, yet deeply personal and mystical nature of dreams. It's the first in a series of mixes or "vibes" that I'll share periodically. Thank you for listening.

As time elapses we will grow older and we will grow wiser. We will fall in and out of love. We will destroy each other only to build each other back up again. We will continue to change, tethered to time and influenced by everything around us. The relationships we search for and the ones that search us out. The relationships we thought could never be and the ones we thought we could never be without. They’re all on their way to becoming something else, never static, always moving. Because time is the biggest player in the game, and it is why everything is changing. If you try to picture every moment in a relationship all at once, then that right there would be us, over time, passing by. Changing, folding, becoming something else.
