Modular Stuff

In this demo I've multi-tracked the Cwejman RG-6.
The initial bassline and melody is the RG-6. Later come's the Synthesis Technology E350 Morphing Terrarium and lastly the Intellijel Cyclebox II. I didn't write down how the sounds where patched, but the RG-6 is running through the Make Noise MMG filter.

So if you turn the "Rate CV Level" full CW you'll have 1V/oct on the "Clock Rate" input. Lovely! And a fun fact is that the Cwejman RG-6 tracks within .10 semi-tones over 4 octaves.

I thought I would try something a little different this week. All sounds are from the BassStation2, using patches made by me. I initially came up with a melody line based on the words of the haiku, and that is the 'bass' melody. The rest was all just ad-lib. 
It turned out a little more melancholic than I expected.

I've been playing around with Softube Modular for a little bit. I do have a 15U at 84hp custom Eurorack next to me, but this one's a lot easier to bring along.

The first thing I did, as I always do, was to patch a nice little bellish synth sound followed by a dreamy pad. I added them both together and voilá! A lullaby. My sons however fell asleep before it was ready - but they'll get to hear it tomorrow.

Of course I just had to add both B2 and Shimmer.

Softube Modular Says Hello

Earlier today I was thinking about a neat trick with the Intellijel Planar Eurorack module. I fed the E355's two LFO's phase shifted 180° to make the motion of the joystick resemble a circle. I then connected the two E350 (both XY and Z to fill the four inputs) to the Planar. Added some modulation via the E102 so the E350's were modulated at different times and I also tuned them in fifths. This trick could also be a form of hocketing the two E350's. An E950, modulated of course, was added for extra thickness.

My contribution to the IMD/Distractfold Historage project.

I've always found the time, and sounds, leading up to a concert very interesting. The orchestra is on stage, expectations and tension builds. There's the tuning notes, but also small noises and noodles being played, and musicians fiddling around with their instruments. An orchestra left unattended on stage, it seems, just can't stay silent! So, since the Furrer piece contained recordings of said time, I decided to make a piece using only the sounds leading up to the actual music performance as basis for my work.  These sounds were cut, looped, arranged and heavily processed with effects, to form the piece InEagerAnticipation.

This track is made using only the Nord Modular G2.
All the patches are using my Random Clock Generator, or Toggling S&H, patch inspired by the Buchla "Source of Uncertainty" Model 265 module to get that analogue and unstable oscillator drift.

I aim to use the tempo of the original composition, or half, when producing my Pretorium remixes. I'm most often doing 'full vocal' versions and try to treat the track with the respect it deserves.
