Title track Breaking Ice kicks off the EP in brutal form. Titanic kicks thunder from the off while clever, rhythmic vocal cuts chop alongside razor sharp percussion as siren like synths pulse throughout. Dub Smak picks up the pace whilst keep things dark and hard, chugging along nicely before a terrorising synth hook lasers it’s way through. Ghost Train brings a more jacking feel to the EP as both kick and bassline pound together with stripped percussion, building through dense atmospherics into a warping synth line. UK techno don, Ansome, turns in a roasting hot remix of title track Breaking Ice. Twisting and tearing at the original as only he could, his version is a broken beat monster packed with incessant sonic destruction.

One year ago, I undertook a (nasty) challenge to eat all 10 levels of spicy sauce at the infamous 'Curry & Chili' in Berlin to earn a spot on their Imbiss wall, where successful challengers are immortalized with a picture. Through this challenge, I developed the procedure of 'Tactical Mayonnaise,' which involves eating mayo in between bites of extremely spicy Currywurst to ease the pain and finish the portion.
After completing the last level of 7,777,777 Scoville, which caused me solid 16 hours of immobility, immense stomach pain, and further suffering that I will spare you from in this story, I sat down and produced a track called 'Tactical Mayonnaise'. It contained everything I went through in this experience and emulated the sensation of relief brought on by the mayonnaise, achieved by a deliberate BPM slowdown in the middle of the track.

'Wanton,' having witnessed my journey and heard the track, approached me with the idea of a remix. This sparked my motivation to invite more friends to join in on the project, resulting in a collaborative Remix EP. To honor the anniversary of those events, I am very happy to finally share with you what I believe to be a very sophisticated roster of tracks, rooted in a humorous and personal genesis.
This Remix EP includes the original track, an additional four-to-the-floor club version that I made, and remixes by:

KHA023 marks the first release of 2025 on Khazad Records and we are thrilled to welcome Eubo to the Khazad family.

Eubo is an up-and-coming Glasgow based artist. A self-labelled groove enthusiast, he has already established his own distinctive sound of rolling yet heavy drumlines which instantly caught our attention.

This EP is is gritty and dirty, but with refined elements of repetitive rolling percussive rhythms and interjected with catch and well-crafted vocal chants and reese bass stabs throughout. This all helps to give the sense of a constant forward movement of energy.

Alongside the five original tracks, is a crushing remix of the title track from Patrick DSP. Through the introduction of crisp yet un-relenting mid-range drums and a harsh adaptation of the vocal chant, Patrick adds his distinctive touch and huge energy to this great remix.
