Shambhala 2023 – Su Casa stage tribal bass set 21.07.23

I'm excited to share this - It's an electronic world house tune that follows a story.

'Penumbra' means a space of partial illumination around a dense shadow (like an eclipse). In medical terms it is referred to as the area that surrounds a core of dead tissue following an ischaemic event like a stroke. Penumbra tissue is potentially destined to die too - but can be saved if it receives the right treatment quickly.

I chose 'Penumbra' for the name of this song and as a means to reflect on my own healing journey - which I'm sure is widely relatable. Shadow work can be terrifying and dark.. and at times, the worst outcome can feel inevitable. And sometimes.. it may be... 
And sometimes, when the shadow is held up to the light, we may find an area of vulnerability, of Penumbra. The partial light around or next to the dark. This area, when understood and held correctly, can heal - despite all expectation and likelihood that it wouldn't. And, if given what it needs at the right time, can survive and even learn to dance ✨

Diamonica X Akashic Records - Rollercoaster Of Life (Original Mix) [Dense Nebula Records]

'Finding Ground' is a term that my loved ones and I use to communicate when we needed just that. This means taking an intentional moment to acknowledge an inner (or outer) storm and to dig deep to find what is needed to feel grounded when things feel chaotic and up in the air.

The song starts with what I usually need, something warm and nourishing. A reminder of the beauty in the world and a moment to connect to my people and the earth. Usually once feeling warm, safe and connected, there's space to process and move whatever it is that needs to be moved... be that by dancing like a crazy jaguar lady, stomping till my knees hurt, or rolling around in the grass rocking a solid bass face. The first drop in this song is for just that.. and the second drop, even more so. 

I hope that this song helps others find some ground during their storms.. and it helps you move whatever it is that may need to be moved.

Finding Ground

Stoked to share my live recorded tribal bass set complete with vocal and didjeridoo looping from the Portal stage at Wicked Woods Music festival 2024.

It was super rewarding to collab with @portalcrewproductions on the stage build and design again, and then play at hour set at 6.30pm on Saturday night. Much love to all the Portal stage crew and collaborators, including the @renegadesoundcollective for levelling up our stage with their amazing sound system, and props to all the homies who came out to support. Endless gratitude to life for providing these amazing opportunities for creative expression and community collaboration.
