Well it's certainly been awhile, so pardon my dust everybody! Only way to keep this short is to simply say that 2023 was a tough year. I lost loved ones, and faced some tough moments of depression. The one thing that kept me going through it all though, was music. So I figured it was time to finally record my set from last years (and sadly THE final) BarnCoast. No lie, this set reignited a spark in me that had seemingly died out for the majority of last year. So, I really hope this hour of miscellaneous disco edits hits home for you like it did for me <3

This is a recording of my recent opening set for A.Skillz at Sub Rosa with Dojo Entertainment. I was stoked to have an opportunity to switch things up a bit with a breaks/funk/house set and I can't get enough of this mix. Influence - Funk With Thiz

I have made mixes in support for many communities. I made one for Black Lives Matter. I did one for pride month. I’ve done mixes for various fundraisers. 

Recently, when I wanted to create one in support for my own community, I thought it might be too controversial. Right now, there are many of my friends and fans who will take this the wrong way. I may even lose some of them. Then I realized, that’s exactly why I have to make one. Being Jewish is not a provocation. Being Jewish is not partisan. Being Jewish is not a political statement. 

When my heart breaks, I feel safest expressing it through music. My heart breaks now for the Palestinian people. My heart breaks for Jews around the world who are suffering a sadness, fear, and isolation few can understand. My heart breaks because so many of my good friends have said things that enforced those emotions. My heart breaks for the future, the past, and the present.

To my Jewish friends and family, Chag Pesach Sameach. Next year in Jerusalem. Am Yisrael Chai.

There’s nothing ancient about Primitive’s sound or technique.  Pushing the DJ and rave lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest since 2000, supporting the music community by creating a slew of residencies, coordinating gigs for other DJs, promoting shows and developing the community through platforms like Party People Sound Solutions, Primitive Hustle, and PK Sound Victoria.  Strengthened through many collaborations, creating connections and culture; trailing a wake of blissed out revellers. All Primitive ever wanted was to rock a party and he is guaranteed to create a sweaty mess on the dance floor.  Primitive’s sound connects the dots between Techno, House, Breaks and Acid, while also dabbling in offshoots of Drum and Bass including Footwork, Juke, Half Time, and Jungle. A DJ’s DJ that can burn down any dance, Primitive sets are system flexing.
