AF Premiere: Diagram - Lumininalis Insighta [Orbitando][OUT!!27.06.24]

Berlin-based French artist Alekzandra has constructed all her life around music. Starting to get into electronic music in the early 2000’s she worked in Ibiza as a DJ and for the legendary Ibiza Underground Club. Facing the need to explore the whole spectrum of the scene she moved to Berlin where she immediately felt at home. Alekzandra’s background lies in dark minimal synth-wave sound as well as experimental drone ambient which has naturally led from her more dance-floor oriented performances to EBM and Industrial Techno. No matter if she plays Techno, EBM, Industrial, Minimal Wave, or Ambient – her sets are designed to indicate a deep, hypnotic and mystical state among the audience. To reach those exact experiences on the dancefloor she keeps preparing each performance with a clear vision. 

With her work as Alekzandra her productions are mostly synth-wave oriented and were or will be released on labels such as Liber Null Berlin, She Lost Kontrol, and Miseria Records, while feature plans include releases on Phase Fatale’s BITE Records. Mainly improvised by trying to interpret the flow and current state of mind and energy she believes that at the very moment in which a certain sound is given life through the voice or fusion of the right elements, music becomes therapeutic. Her approach doesn’t necessarily contain looking for harmony, the perfect vocal, or conventional aesthetics regarding composition rather than expressing both, the bright and the dark sides of one’s state of mind. Besides having launched her new label “Limbic Resonance” she also released under her second alias CPR (Cyber Punk Romance) presenting a completely new version of herself drawn in dark experimental ambient sounds mixed with psychedelic elements along with her vocals. A 3rd CPR long player has been scheduled for late 2023. 

The best recording sessions are those in which sounds, rhythms, and voices faithfully express everything that has been dictated by the soul.

Solenoid Radio #031 - Array Access - [ Techno ]

Array Access evolves between noisy, techno and/or ambient sounds. Passionate about art, aesthetic and code, he's discrete, almost cryptic at times - letting his concepts showing through his work and do the talking. We even the more appreciate him delivering a more experimental, special mix and answering some of our questions. When did you start producing? What was the reason for it ?
 
I started about 6y. ago. At that time I was getting started with DJing and got more and more interested in different kinds of electronic music. Soon I realized producing my own music would give me far more possibilities to express myself, what’s going on inside of me, without getting too specific either with the reasons behind it.

How would you depict your work ?
There are a few constants in my music, such as distortion, harshness, sustained pad sounds, loads of reverb, many pitched down and slowed down sounds, lots of noise and mud. Everything remains a bit hidden in the mist. These are just sound characteristics. Everything else depends on what I feel like. I only limit myself in terms of the tools I use. Other than that there are no rules. I think there’s a lot of melancholia in my music. At least this is what people tell me.

I noticed you've got some really nice productions still unsigned. How come we don't see more of them being released ?
I feel like I’m still at the beginning of everything, slowly building my musical identity. Until I don’t feel like I’ve reached a certain point I don’t want to enforce anything to be released just for the sake of releasing and staying relevant in order to get gigs. There’s so much music out there already. I don’t want to add to all the noise. I want to raise my voice once I found it. Maybe that i'll never happen. So be it. At the end of the day to me creating music is just a way of being. Releases are secondary.

Any plan or project you want to talk about ?
I’m involved in an art project i can't give too much details about. There will be a performance next year. Besides that the next Ressort Imprint compilation will feature a track of mine and there's another release scheduled for early 2017 on another label. For the next couple of months I’ll be busy with the first other (more) arty project.

Anythg you 'regret' to this day? 
Not having continued learning an instrument and getting a proper musical education. I dropped learning the keyboard when I was about 14 because I was lazy as fuck. I regret that.

Smthg you're proud of ?
Neither having neglected my studies nor my music. I’m passionate about both programming and creating music. Actually both of them require lots of creativity. I love doing both.

Deep/hypnotic/mystic monthly podcast since late 2016, sometimes leaning toward raving Techno — The whole in strong, unique signatures, supporting both established as well as emerging Djs/artists and focusing on pulsating, atmospheric deep sounds. Based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Prior Act has a preference for free spirited people/set lengths, esp. toward Live sets and vinyl building approach (since Day One).
