Copy Paste Soul returns with a new EP on his newly relaunched 2Swords imprint this August, entitled ‘The Fall’ and backed with a remix from house legend Laurent Garnier.

Rising artist Copy Paste Soul has been receiving huge support on his material over the past few years, striking chords with the BBC Radio 1 elite including Pete Tong, Annie Mac, B Traits and Skream, with his infectiously warm and intelligent compositions. He relaunched the 2Swords imprint with ‘Like This’ in June 2014, picking up wide support in the lead up from many heavy hitting names in the world of underground electronic music, namely Art Department, Huxley, Ewan Pearson and Kate Simko to name but a few.

Here we see Copy Paste Soul open up this new release with the re-release of title cut ‘The Fall’, a contemporary house cut fuelled by loose, bumpy rhythms and low-pitched vocal licks, while classic rave style stab sequences, a wandering bass hook and tension building string melodies add a retro charm to the feel of the record. Once again we’re treated to stylish and understated work from Copy Paste Soul.

Following is a second original from the budding producer, entitled ‘The Reverend’, this time embracing a jazz tinged aesthetic with meandering piano licks, preachy vocal lines and natural rhythms, while a hypnotising, elongated bass hook puts a unique spin on things to generate a distinctive and idiosyncratic piece.

The package is then rounded off with a remix from French legend Laurent Garnier, who reshapes ‘The Fall’ into
an elegant groove-led number, Laurent’s been a huge fan of Copy Paste Soul’s material since the project was
launched, and the fact he only offers remixes for one in return stands as testament to their relationship and love for each others music. Garnier lays his interpretation out over nine minutes with an ever-blossoming, dynamic feel, extracting snippets from the original and remoulding them with his signature deep and engrossing style.

Copy Paste Soul’s ‘The Fall’ is out on 2Swords 25th August 2014.

Breton = musicians/filmmakers/remixers/

Breton began life in a warehouse somewhere in South East London. Born from the creative force of musicians and filmmakers Roman Rappak and Adam Ainger and expanded recently into a multi-instrumental and visual collective with the inclusion of Ian Patterson, Daniel McIlvenny and Alex Wadey. This year, the very limited and quickly snapped-up EP Practical floated between “eerie and carnival-esque. Combining elements of math-rock, post-rock, straight-up Electro and even tropical” – Abeano.com. The second E.P. in the trilogy, entitled Sharing Notes, follows on Monday 5th July. The physical copy of this E.P. will come mounted on a hand-made circuit board with a list of components and directions which, when followed, creates a fully working  synth.

Under the guise BretonLABS, Breton run a slick operation of audio/visual experimentation. Remixes have been created for the likes of Is Tropical, Hatcham Social and Penguin Prison. Their short films have screened at both the London Short Film Festival and the East London Film Festival, with Breton performing a live soundtrack.  Their celebrated music videos - Penguin Prison, NewIsland, 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster – adorn all in-the-know blogs.

Breton are the glaring beacons of the mp3 generation; the generation of immediate access to music and visuals, where careers and genres spanning decades, cultures and the globe are spread wide open for the taking, downloading and mixing into billions of individual, eclectic and genre-defying playlists. With such light speed assimilation of influences -  spanning from The Beach Boys to Minimal House, Dub-Step to David Bowie, Bjork to East Coast Hip-Hop and a noticeable chunk of Post-Punk, Breton create wholly individual songs, with the end result being a blasting, constantly evolving sonic assault. 

Absorbing all, yet mixing it up into wholly individual songs building imposing razor sharp electronics, Post-Punk and Art-Rock that sounds like nothing else.

"Beam Me Up" (featuring Charlene Soraia & Scuba) is the first official single from the debut album <i>Getting Closer</i> by Close, a new production alias from producer, DJ and label owner Will Saul.

The track gets a more ‘floor facing remix from Aus and Hotflush alumni George FitzGerald. Re-interpreting the track with his own meticulous melodic touch, he underpins the whole thing with raw, stomping drums and a guttural bassline.
