Marcus Meinhardt is next up on Dear Deer with two big techno rollers and a remix from Lunar Plane.

Lost Paradise is a spaced out techno cut with astral synths dancing on rubbery drums. It is melodic, prog, and epic in all the right ways. Lunar Plane remixes it into something more prickly and bouncy, with slick synth stabs and plenty of cosmic vibes getting you on your feet. Dickicht then closes out the EP in dark fashion with rumbling bass and icy hi hats, spine word mutterings and a sense of drama that leaves a lasting impact.

‘The Secret Of Eos’ started with one of those special requests: Tale Of Us asked the Italian duo for something special for their weekly opening sets at Hi, Ibiza. The track was delivered and it became a key staple of their sets all summer.

You can instantly hear why; that crisp arpeggio, those lush shimmering pipes, the poignant chords and stunning vocal. A true scene-pace-tone setter, drop this and watch the whole crowd lock-in en masse as they submit to the journey… A journey that can be extended and manipulated to your pleasure thanks to the beatless version which highlights the musical versatility of the track and how it lends itself to any sets in the house/techno/progressive/trance axis.

For the final track of this remarkable EP we head far east for ‘Japan’. A much darker tale told by Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti, this one firms our focus squarely on that lava-like bassline that morphs, mutates and melts throughout the track, taking us deeper and deeper into Fideles’ signature rabbit hole, to places unchartered.

For the Techno edition of Yoshitoshi 25, we’ve dug deep into the archives and pulled out the finest tracks that define the darker side of Yoshitoshi’s history. This includes remastered versions of classic tracks like Dish Out Bum’s “Gak Trak” Chiapet’s “Tick Tock,” 2 Smokin’ Barrels’ “Basses Loaded,” and Timeline’s “Clockwork Orange,” as well as modern cuts like Victor Ruiz’s “Rollercoaster,” ANNA’s “Momentum,” Nicole Moudaber’s seminal remix of Alcatraz’s “Give Me Luv”, and Loco & Jam and Frankyeffe’s “Splitting Minds.” To spice things up, we’ve included three brand new remixes from Moonwalk, label regular Olivier Giacomotto, and Dubspeeka. Moonwalk takes on Phil Kieran’s “I Love You,” creating a deep mix that emphasizes the Italian duo’s knack for catchy, earworm synth patterns and hold-your-breath build-ups that deliver in the club. Olivier takes on one of the earliest entries in the Yoshitoshi catalogue, Hani’s “Irieheaven,” flipping the originally squelchy 303 tune into one of his bold, signature hands-in-the-air techno anthems. Dubspeeka remixes Sharam’s classic from 2009 “Secret Parkway,” turning the track into a moody late-night warehouse banger complete with spooky synths and gobs of low end. Following up the deep and uplifting Yoshitoshi 25: House compilation, the Techno edition takes you to the other side of the coin and once again demonstrates the label’s diverse history and versatility. The Anjunabeats rave resurgence continues, as two of our label stars head deeper into the world of industrial dance music; Genix & Grum see ‘The Light’. 

Emerging from their album campaigns, ‘The Light’ became a feature of sets for Genix (Damion Houchen) and Grum (Graeme Shepherd) during their respective world tours at the start of 2020.

Finnish DJ and producer Yotto has become an Anjunadeep legend since making his debut on the label in 2015. Winning huge support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard, Otto Yliperttula quickly rose to prominence with his energetic melodic house sound. His debut album ‘Hyperfall’, released in late 2018 reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance Album Chart, and saw him tour the world and play at Coachella. Since then Yotto has established his own label, Odd One Out, putting out a string of club cuts supported by the likes of Tale Of Us, Artbat and Eric Prydz.

Over a year since his last solo release on Anjunadeep, Yotto now makes a welcome homecoming with ‘Another Riff For The Good Times / Daydreaming’. Demonstrating his flair with uplifting melodies, ‘ARFTGT’ is classic Yotto, whilst the restrained ‘Daydreaming’ is a highlight from the recent chart topping compilation ‘Anjunadeep 11’.
