We kick things off with the title track / original, the guys bring, this one is a proper 4/4 slab of Progressive beauty, Right from the off you are presented with an in-your-face kick and rumbling bassline, this continues to grow and grow throughout, what a start to this EP. Next up is Da Syks own Dub version. This is another outstanding production which keeps the big Prog sounds from the original while incorporating many new original elements as this moves along, another stand-out here. Last up is another original from the lads, The Dude Abides, Again we have another excellent production, Its another driving Progressive number that finishes up a stunning EP. South African heavyweights Phila De Giant and Enoo Napa team up again, this time with Canadian vocalist Deniz Reno, for the “So Real” EP. The lead track “Coffee” brings brighter melodies and a stronger feel, built on solid Afro house foundations with Deniz’s sultry vocals sitting perfectly in the mix. The energy is confident and direct, giving DJs a track that works across different moments in a set. “So Real” takes a darker turn, with a moodier tone and a flow that pulls you in and holds you there. Both tracks benefit from the chemistry between Enoo and Phila, whose previous collaborations like “Egypt” and “Tom & Jerry” have shown their ability to balance depth with dancefloor impact. Deniz adds a vocal layer that feels honest and present without overpowering the production. Essential for Afro house and Afro tech sets that need both light and shade.
