Raised in Antwerp by immigrant parents, Vye started life as a little kid with a big dream in a big city. She fell in love with music at hearing the first sound. Surrounded by instruments at home, she decided she wanted to become a polyvalent artist when she grew up. Fascinated by jazz and hip hop, she immersed herself in all kinds of music, but chose to study classical piano at the age of 8, when her mother enrolled her in the music academy. She ended up studying there for 15 years. Even though she had the ambition to enrol for opera at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, she decided to study Literature and Linguistics at the University of Antwerp instead, where she got her Master's degree with great distinction. Her love for books supplied her with an ample vocabulary in several languages, including English and Spanish in which she wrote her Master's thesis. Today, her two passions work together as she elegantly combines her love for words and harmony into refreshing and innovative songs.
