I was new at school, headset low
Didn’t know a soul, kept it on the low
She walked by me, AR on lock
Said “you're late,” with a laugh and a mock

We split a canned pizza before the bell 
Tasted like lag, but she wore it well 
She had gold skins, I had base loadouts
But she picked me first when the teams got scouted (when the dreams got clouded… oh.)

She said "cover me"... and I swear I froze
Heartbeat louder than the shots we chose
No medkit, no strat, no clutch to trust
But I’d lose every match just to sit with us

I’m not top rank, not varsity cool
But she laughed at my jokes, and that bent the rules
It’s not game love, it’s the lunch bell ring
Talkin bout nothin... but it felt like a thing

We played after class, deathmatch turned deep
She told me her dreams while the squad was asleep
Said her dad’s too strict, coach rides her too tough
She wins every match, but it’s never enough

I told her I get it, my pressure’s the same
Freeze in my chest when I boot up the game
She smiled real small, nudged my uh side
Said, “you’re weird, and so shy” 
And I just said “...I…” 
...and I just said.

No words for five rounds, didn’t even lag
I typed “you good?” she typed back “yeah”
But her loadout changed and her voice went rare

No final match, no hero scene
Just me in the dark with a broken screen
If love’s a raid, I missed the ping
But I’d still revive her for anything
