Sing Our Souls

Miniversion of Maurice Ravel’s "Bolero".
My first projekt after starting at the Studio Blue school.

This little sheet music excerpt was in the piano book as an illustration of the term “tie.”
I thought I’d try to practice it at home, to impress my pianoteacher. But since we had just completed the module on “MIDI-knowledge,” the ambition soon shifted toward turning it into a MIDI-project instead.

I found the rest of the sheet music online and made up some of my own arrangements.
All instruments are from the Xpand synth.

Why?
Music has been a major interest throughout most of my life, but sadly, I am neither a musician nor a singer in reality. 2017, in my late 50s, I completed a sound/music program at the “Studio Blue” school in Stockholm. Since then, I’ve had the humble ambition to create musical content that, at the very least, impresses myself— and hopefully, keeps improving over the years.

An early attempt. Lost the actual project halfway through due to a data crash.
However, I stumbled across this rough bounce the other day.
Still think it had enough potential that I’ve decided to upload it.
Real bass and guitar, mixed with all sorts of MIDI-instruments.
