King Lear II follows a leader who briefly remembers that speech is an action — and discovers, too late, what his office is actually for. In a post-imperial state where authority survives mostly as tone, a single plain sentence disrupts nothing and reveals everything. Markets adjust. Allies murmur. Headlines reframe. The system absorbs the shock and continues.

This album is about the moment you realise that power never lived in you — only in the doing. Like families after a handover, or institutions after belief has gone, the crown remains visible long after it has stopped biting.

Spare, restrained, and unmistakably English, King Lear II treats language as ritual, silence as consequence, and survival as a kind of misunderstanding. A record about roles outliving people, and what happens when someone forgets to keep playing.
