Our second EP of 2021 is coming from a lad who doesn’t seem to be stopping at the moment...it’s a pleasure to welcome back man of the hour @dxnby, and you’re in for a treat with this one 🍭

Dxnby is an artist we’ve had on our radar for over a year now, and after his sublime release on our VA in February, it was only a matter of time before getting him onboard for his debut TENTŌ EP🚀 
Spending the majority of time in his studio, it’s no surprise to see just how far Dxnby has come over these past few months with his production, with no signs of slowing down anytime soon🏃‍♂️

‘Lab Coat EP’ fulfils all those Dxnby needs and more, coming through with three originals from the man himself, plus, not one but TWO remixers joining him💥
‘Lab Coat’ is a feel good, buoyant record encompassed with summery synths and a driving bassline 🎸
‘Home Rhodes' delivers a similar upbeat vibe to it, however merges these elements with clever use of a familiar vocal to deliver a light hearted groove you can bop along to all night long 🌙 
Lastly for the originals we have ‘Strada Del Ritmo’ where you can expect everything from skippy percussion, light-hearted keys and even some extra-terrestrial sounding pads👽 

We’re also pleased to announce joining us for their own spin on this EP are @notiv-uk and @theotheospalisseaux who unsurprisingly body their remixes...
The NotiV boys are back at it again with their  remix of ‘Lab Coat’, providing a deeper groove with sharp hats and moody synths to deliver a tune with attitude, meanwhile THEOS comes through once again with his signature keys and progressive chords too add a funk element to ‘Home Rhodes’ 🎹

Swindon born and bred DJ and Producer Chaney (aka Theo Altieri) is making his way back to Toolroom with his first release on the label this year: ‘Back To Me’ featuring the brilliantly talented vocalist Laura Davie. Landing on the label at the beginning of the summer season, Chaney’s timing is perfect with this one. Having previously released tracks on Stress, Loaded & Skint Records to name a few, ‘Back To Me’ is Chaney’s latest single on Toolroom since 2020’s ‘Good For Me’ feat. Morixo.
 
Chaney really delivers the goods on ‘Back To Me’, an uplifting piano house banger full of everything you’d expect from a Chaney release but with so much more. Feel good piano chords are backed by a pumping bass line, layered with sharp strings sprinkled with a touch of disco magic that really brings the record to life. The soft vocal cuts are the hook line and sinker with this track, chopped, reversed and mangled into a catchy melody that pops throughout the record. Along with the voice of Laura Davie who has featured on previous Toolroom releases such as Illyus & Barrientos ‘Disco Hearts’ and Mark Knights ‘If It’s Love’ with The Melody Men. Laura’s powerful vocals lift the track to a higher state of being, ascending you and the music to a full-on euphoric moment. Together, Chaney & Laura Davie have a sure-fire summer hit on their hands, and we can’t wait for you to hear it.

Next up in our Anniversary Remixes series, Mark Knight and Funkagenda’s anthemic ‘Man With The Red Face’ is reinterpreted by award-winning Dutch producer Hardwell, tech house talent and Toolroom regular Rene Amesz and longstanding house master ATFC. 

A monumental track in the history of Toolroom Records, Mark Knight and Funkagenda’s cover of Laurent Garnier’s ‘Man With The Red Face’ cemented the label’s position in the dance music scene, winning Best Ibiza Track 2008 at Pacha’s Ibiza DJ Awards and Beatport’s Best Tech House Track of 2008. 

Now our Anniversary Remixes package sees the track reinterpreted in three striking ways. 
First up, Hardwell supplies a big room, high energy remix crafted to fill the largest and loudest festival arenas, heavily supported by Radio 1 in Ibiza this is set to soar to the top.
Next, Rene Amesz takes his trademark techy style to the track, incorporating crisp, percussive rhythms resulting in a whole new tech workout for the clubs. 
Finally, ATFC takes the track to another level, crafting the aptly named ‘When The Lights Go Up’ remix, resulting in a laidback adaptation that that pulls at the heartstrings for the perfect finale tune.

Proving to be an enduring favourite for any Toolroom fan, ‘Man With The Red Face’ is now updated with three diverse remixes, ready for the next ten years of Toolroom Records.
