Venezuelan wonder producers Fur Coat step up for a triumphant return to their spiritual home of Crosstown Rebels armed with a solid stack of weapons to vamp up the dancefloor. Showcasing the duo’s most thoughtful and restrained material to date, the ‘U Turn EP’ is a deep and moody tour de force, technically on point and awash with hypnotic bleeps, dramatic tension and shards of vintage techno. Damian Lazarus has consistently hammered all 4 cuts of late and ‘U Turn’ has been a staple in the sets of the mighty Tale Of us for 4 months, debuting at Time Warp in Mannheim to heated speculation. Stylistically more heads down with not a hint of vocal, these are darkroom killers with the artistic essence of Fur Coat in tact.

Fur Coat is one of the most hard-working and passionate duos in the business. On an endless quest for an original groove, irresistible hook and utmost production quality, their wildly successful releases for the likes of Hot Creations, Bpitch Control and of course Crosstown Rebels has ensured that the duo a weighty touring schedule and loyal following. Unearthed and championed by original Rebel Damian Lazarus, the duo released their impressive debut album ‘Mind Over Matter’ in 2012 on Crosstown Rebels

Since the album dropped, the pair have been called upon to sprinkle the unmistakable Fur Coat magic to reworks of legends such as Timo Maas & Robert Owens as well as hot newcomers Kidnap Kid & Joy Wellboy. April 2014 saw another landmark as the guys released their first original material since Mind Over Matter. 'Theres No Time EP' came out on the much hyped Hot Creations imprint from Jamie Jones & Lee Foss and is still getting hammered by some of the biggest players in the game today. Hot on its heels came 'The Right Move EP' for Ellen Allien's legendary Berlin imprint Bpitch Control, and featured the vocal talents of Jaw from DOP, again cementing Fur Coat’s name at the top of the industry.

Monarke & Ege Yanik combine on a superb new outing for Symbiosis that features three slick new tunes.

Walk Away opens with glistening synth lines and driving drums full of power. The emotional chords wash over you and will get hands in the air in the club. The Spells is another emotional rollercoaster with sleek tech drums and the sort of well designed synths and keys that light up the club with rays of cosmic energy. It's Our Legacy then closes down with a darker vibe, more menacing drums and epic synth that spray about the mix.

This is another superb outing from all.

Astral Records opens the month of February with a fresh collaboration from Kasia, Q.U.A.K.E and Vincenzo Sarti. Hailing from New York and making her label debut is Kasia, an artist who has been hotly tipped within the melodic house and techno community. With a cohesive blend of ephemeral melancholia and high-energy melodic techno, her productions have already graced trendsetting imprints such as DESSERT, Einmusika and New Tab, while her unique track selections and flawless programming have been a staple of Afterlife's iconic event series. Returning to the label are Q.U.A.K.E and Vincenzo Sarti, both established acts in their own right, owning a collective discography highlighted by releases via Einmusika, Outer Space Oasis, Siona Records and Timeless Moment. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Kasia, Q.U.A.K.E and Vincenzo unveil their collaborative debut for Astral Records entitled 'Introspection'.

'Introspection' takes square aim at the dancefloor and is an apt barometer of where the trio's headspace is at. Instantly seductive, its cutting edge structures and mesmerizing machine progressions drive each other into a whirlpool of spiralling directions. The main break collapses under its own gravity, as momentum builds and pyrotechnic synths steal the air, eventually breaking into a hyperventilating helium rush of cutting edge sonics and rolling rhythmic structures.

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.
