Partial Press Release: The 42nd release on microCastle welcomes Chicola and Sahar Z to the label for their debut EP. The Israeli duo have long been at the core of Tel Aviv's electronic music scene. Sahar Z is now approaching 20 years as one of the country's most recognized artists. Part owner and resident at Tel Aviv's famed 'The Cat & Dog' club, Sahar continually plays alongside some of the world's best talent such as Sasha, John Digweed, Dubfire, Mathew Jonson and Patrice Baumel. While his productions for Bedrock, Lost & Found, Suara and Sudbeat continue to make him one of the most unique and cutting edge artists in the underground. 

Similarly Chicola began his journey into electronic music in the mid-nineties, at Tel Aviv's renowned 'Allenby 58, DJing alongside Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Danny Tenaglia and countless other top international talents. Recent studio work for Lost & Found, Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, along with one hugely in demand and unreleased piece 'Childhood', has propelled Chicola into one of electronic music's most intriguing artists. 

The studio synergy between Chicola and Sahar is constant and while an abundance of material is locked away (primarily for live gigs), it's only on rare occasions that you see a collaborative release from the duo. Previous EP's for Guy J's Lost & Found Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music are all that sits in the duos collective discography. Now as 2016 begins we see a long awaited third project, their debut EP for microCastle entitled 'It Happened One Night'. 

The EP's second selection 'The Stage' finds Chicola and Sahar crafting the ultimate techno jam. It's a journey that plays out over fourteen glorious minutes, anchored by a smooth, momentous groove, it effortlessly flows through a myriad of subtle motifs and cosmic effects. A continually evolving adventure with a techno state of mind, as described by Chicola and Sahar, "This one was a winter session that resulted in a soulful moment. A time when we turned off our minds and opened up our hearts. An analog moment for us, circular sounds with warm melodies.  It's our 909 meets 303 approach and an endless jam session for the future."

3 QUESTIONS to OLIVIER WEITER:

Q: Summer 2016 is in full progress. What´s your favorite place to be/to play?

A: I love to play all over the world, visiting as many countries as possible. But for the festivals, I really like the festival productions in the Netherlands. So professional, and beautiful stage designs. Only bad thing is that the the sun doesn't shine always ;)

Q: In german „weiter“ means „forward“. Is that part of the secret behind your name?

A: Yes it is, I always wanted to be called Olivier when I was a child, because of a dutch tv serie where the main character is called Olivier. He always went travelling and did those crazy adventures. Weiter is indeed inspired by German word Forward, because I always want to go forward, don't stop at a point. I think you are never finished with this ambition. It got inspired to do all this by the German techno sound, so this is how my alter ego "Olivier Weiter" was born. 

Q: You started a label according to your name, called „Weiter“. What´s coming up soon?

A: The last release was from a very young talent called Marc Holstege, with an amazing remix from Formel. Those boys have already done some great releases, so the next WEITER release will be an EP from them. I'm also busy with finishing a sampler for the Amsterdam Dance Event, wich contains tracks from most of the producers who released a previous track on the label.

Evident belongs to the younger generation of electronic musicians. Born at the end of Yugoslavian erainto newly established Slovenia. Raised in the small town up in the north, surrounded by forest andmountains he developed a strong interest and passion for electronic music, that never ceased to exist.Fast forward a few years and he became one of its most interesting representatives from the Balkanregion. In recent years he remained influenced by the artistic, melancholic and explorative side ofelectronic music, while staying firmly connected to the club core that resides between house and techno.After numerous chances to play the at the same nights & stages asMike Servito,Johannes Heil,Richard Davis, Will Saul, Larsson,Funkineven,youANDme,Chymera,Jan Blomqvist hedeveloped a sense for djing, which he was able to showcase in clubs and festivals in neighbouringcountries. Lately associated with SolvdMag and it’s successful SOLVD events, he became monthlyresident at the legendary Klub K4 in Ljubljana, where he currently lives and works.

Influenced by the nature, technology, electronic music, consciousness, everyday contrasts and eventsaround the world, the album started to take it’s shape in the summer of 2016. Album’s tracklist createsit’s own story and sets the tone and expectations for the listeners experience which soon dispels into 79minute long experience, full of sensual atmospheres, edgy rhythms, playful noises, progressive melodiesand ambience recordings.

Mysteries We Don’t Have Time To Think about is a product of everyday contrasts & thoughts, thatreflects on our way of life. “Who we are, what we’re doing and where we’re going” is an interestingquestion, but it might receive as many different answers as there’s people. Even if the artwork andtracklist set the serious tone - it’s nothing to be serious about, because album invites the listener toparticipate in a timeless and colorful voyage, that can be enjoyed at home or in the middle of thecrowded dancefloor
