Argentina is a country with a celebrated progressive house heritage. One of the key figures at the inception of the movement was Marcelo Vasami. First hitting the scene in 2005, the Buenos Aires-based artist quickly became one of the genre's most recognizable names, eventually showcasing his music on Sudbeat and Hope Recordings. He continues to be one of his country's most popular DJs, having shared the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug label boss Cid Inc. Having debuted on Replug in 2011, Marcelo now makes a long overdue return with a brand new EP entitled 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'.

Original music from Marcelo has been scarce as of late, with his last project (a collaboration with fellow countryman Nicko Izzo) being released well over a year ago on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings. 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' couldn't arrive with more anticipation and points to being the Argentine's career best work.  Entrancing soundscapes combined with a sub heavy groove and strong rhythmic elements set the piece in motion. Fading to prominence, a tasteful arp naturally evolves, allowing you to get lost in a sea of cosmic vibrations. Chilling moods resonate at the core of the centrepiece, building slowly with charismatic charm, before a rush of percussion sparks a powerful drop and seductive finale.

Returning once again to his esteemed imprint is Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc, who provides the lone interpretation of 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'. An eventful summer saw the Finnish artist with EPs on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Replug Records, the latter of which is still enjoying time in Beatport's progressive house chart, now four months after its release. Cid Inc's vivid imagination and uncanny sense of club dynamics brings 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' even closer to a peak time dance floor. The ebb and flow of its energy is engaging, as a rolling full bodied groove, redemptive rhythms and avant-garde sci-fi textures unite in perfect harmony for this synth-driven scorcher. Already a highlight in Cid Inc's recent sets across the world, it's now set to be one of the biggest and most sought after progressive house tracks as 2017 winds to a close. 

The companion piece 'Plot' showcases a deeper, darker side of Marcelo's studio repertoire. Quirky, tough and a touch subversive it's an interesting contrast in mood and design. Primed for dance floor destruction, its funked-up progressive attitude is powerful with enticing strokes, buzzing effects and ghostly vocals adding their own melancholic touch. It perfectly completes the release which now sits as Marcelo's most accomplished work to date.

Dustin Nantais makes his long awaited return to Manual Music after delivering one of the labels' biggest releases of last year with 'Apathy'.

The Toronto based artist delivers two delightful new tracks, kicking things off with the title track 'Last Legs'. A lovely piece of blissful dance floor euphoria that sits nicely in the middle of progressive melodic house and a more bigroom kinda sound. Sure to be dropped at many festivals this summer season!

On remix duties we welcome Argentinian rising star Emi Galvan on board, after already having released material by him on our MNL label. He brings that percussion driven South American touch which we love so much, and gives 'Last Legs' a whole different feel. Groovy!

The second original is titled 'The More You Do' and is a bit deeper and moody when compared to the opening track. The infectious bassline gently takes you on yet another trip to dreamland as the strings and arpeggiators get introduced subtly along the way. Proper emo vibes here!

Always end the thing with a bang we thought, so we asked Matan Caspi to remix 'The More You Do' and the result is nothing short of stunning! The Outta Limits label boss truly delivers on of his best remixes to date here with a driving chunky percussion fueled interpretation. Proper peak time dance floor madness right here!

Two great originals by Dustin Nantais topped off by two strong interpretations by Emi Galvan and Matan Caspi. What more can one ask for?

Roger Martinez's Higher States imprint continues a strong start to their journey by welcoming GMJ to the label for his debut EP. Based in Melbourne, Australia GMJ aka Gavin Martin has been a primary figure in the progressive house scene for over a decade. His passion for deep and emotive electronic music has seen him land releases on the industry's most esteemed imprints. From Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music to Cid Inc’s Replug Records and UK behemoth Anjunadeep, it's GMJ's storytelling style that continues to surprise and inspire even the genre's most discerning fans. Now following an EP for US conglomerate Proton Music, GMJ debuts on Higher States with the much anticipated 'Enter Universe' artist showcase.

Spread across three tracks it's the warm, redolent grooves of the title selection which gets the release underway. The seven minute journey effortlessly melds organic percussion, arcane atmospheres and hazy harmonic concepts, for what results in a travelogue of mystical audio. Delicate yet powerful it perfectly sets the stage for the peak time flavoured 'Multiverse'. It's astral designs and percussion cadence prove instantly compelling, while a foundation of pulsating beats and electric rhythms continues to drive momentum forward. A cascading motif sits at the spiritual core of the piece, evocative and fluid, gently elevating mood with each successive pass, until elegantly peaking during a poignant final act. Rounding out the collection is the mid tempo 'Niloquai'. Highly creative, it's blend of clustered vocal fragments, spatial arps and textural drifts makes for an enticing storyboard, all playing out over waves of contoured bass and striking tonal design. Reflective in mood it caps off what is an impassioned collection of music from GMJ, one which sees him raise the bar once again and continue what has been an inspired year for the Australian producer. Highly recommended.

Cid Inc’s Replug Records caps off a successful year by welcoming Dmitry Molosh back to the label for a new artist showcase. The Belarus native and progressive music favourite rounded out 2018 with his chart topping ‘Detektor’ EP for the Finnish imprint. 2019 has seen further successes, with EP’s for Guy J’s Armadillo Records and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music sitting as the highlights. Now fresh off a contribution to Nick Warren’s Balance compilation, Dmitry lands back on Replug with ‘Cascade’.

Firmly sitting amongst progressive music's elite, Dmitry continues to deliver some of the genre's most beloved tracks with 'Cascade' being the latest in a long line of gems. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; it's chunky foundation, driving percussion and buoyant rhythmic core form the backbone of this exhilarating journey. Panning effects and emerging atmopheres smoothly segue into the main break, shifting the narrative further into melodic territory. Sitting comfortably in an ethereal yet emotive space, the lead motif rises, resonating on a warm and inviting frequency, gently evolving across a foggy atmospheric backdrop, before a gentle rush sparks a thrilling final act.

The companion piece ‘Step By Step’ follows suit with an equally impressive display of rhythm and groove. Spacious and energetic, it’s a creation built around rolling bass tones and vibrant chord stabs. Ethereal phrases and buzzing effects converge as the first act unfolds, while colourful vocal fragments shift energy into the break. Timely modulation adds drama and tension across the one minute interlude, ultimately reaching a swirling crescendo and perfectly setting up a powerful third act.

Dmitry’s long standing relationship with Replug has spawned several of progressive music’s finest moments over the last half decade. ‘Cascade’ once again follows suit and looks set to be one of the winter seasons most in demand releases.

Cid Inc's Replug Records ushers in the summer season by welcoming Kamilo Sanclemente and David Barragan to the label for their debut EP. The former, long regarded as one of Colombia's premiere progressive house talents has found a home on Balance Music, Beat Boutique and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, while earning continued support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. The latter, also hailing from Colombia and perhaps better known to progressive music fans as Dabeat, has adopted his given name for this distinguished project. Much like Kamilo, David has showcased his music on a wide assortment of the underground's premiere imprints, most notably Beatfreak Recordings, Hope Recordings and Proton Music. As frequent studio partners in the past, Kamilo and David now debut on Replug with 'Time Writer'. 

Drawing on a variety of fresh designs and sleek rhythmic concepts the EP begins with its title and showcase piece 'Time Writer'. On a backbone of warm beats comes smooth contoured bass and a lively percussive cadence. Subtle yet stirring, an atmospheric glow encases the framework, as gentle arps and effervescent effects converge in a perfect sonic marriage. The narrative shifts as the breakdown commences with a buzzing lead line set atop a redolent backdrop. Trance inducing and hugely poignant, its euphoric nature sets the course towards a musically enlightened finale. 

The companion piece 'Relive' continues the trance inspired themes of its predecessor.  From its full, wonky groove comes spacey effects and hypnotic arps. Ghostly vocals and placid atmospheres build an emotive resonance across the first movement, perfectly segueing into an expansive centrepiece. A realm within the story, the break melts down to a stunning display of reflective melodies, free flowing in nature and elevating the mood before playing out over a colourful final act.

Having recorded more than thirty productions since the inception of their partnership, the creative synergy between Kamilo and David continues to grow. Their Replug debut sees a further evolution in their collaborative journey, with two creations that once again find them at the forefront of the progressive movement.
