Wie eine FataMorgana erscheint der heutig Podcast vom jungem Künstler Vincent Gericke aus Düsseldorf. Vor ca. 5 Jahren hat Vincent angefangen an seinen ersten Sets zu basteln. Durch sein Studium hatte er aber dann erst mal wieder wenig Zeit zum Musik machen, erst nach seinem Umzug nach Russland 2016 hat er wieder richtig Zeit sich in die Musik zu vertiefen. Das war auch in etwa der Zeitpunkt wo ich über sein erstes Set gestolpert bin „Today's Tale｜Parallels“. Er ist ein wahrer Meister in der Disziplin Storytelling. Jedes Set ist für sich ein kleiner musikalischer Roman mit Höhen und Tiefen. 

Auch seine ersten eigenen Produktionen lassen noch viel erwarten in den nächsten Jahren. Nach seinen diversen Remixen und Edits unter anderem sei hier „Madre Selva“ erwähnt, hat er nun auch seine erste EP „Lucid Dreams“ bei den Schweizern Wildfang Music veröffentlicht … ein ziemlicher Knaller ;-)

Vincent viele lieben Dank für diese wunderbare Geschichte in Musik. Und meinen Hörern wünsch ich wie immer eine wunderbare musikalische Reise und genießt den Sommer.

Rising Belgian artist Thomas Neyens (a.k.a. Kiani & His Legion) has crafted an invigorating listen, littered with a balmy fug of pads billowing like curtains in a breeze, perfectly complimenting the burbling synths levitating in mid-air and spiraling off into the starry ether.

Bathed in bittersweet ambience, with dashes of droning micro samples riddling its spine, 'Somdo Raptors' is embellished with beautifully melancholic yet trance-induced synths that carry a host of associations with them. Thomas Neyes masterfully utilizes the sonic illusion of high and low to perpetually shape-shift the track’s slippery outlines. The result is a compelling story, in which rhythms are fluid, warmth is the key, and fine morning excitement is guaranteed.

‘Somdo Raptors’ is set to be released on the Dutch imprint Something Happening Somewhere [SoHaSo] as one out of 12 tracks unified under the NOWHERE compilation series, featuring new offerings from the likes of Sigward, Quince, Patlac, Love Over Entropy, Kurt Baggaley, Mayaku, Tracey and Fader From Borneo.

Guy J’s seminal label celebrates its 50th release with a two remixes of famed Israeli artist, Eitan Reiter. Having recently finished his second long player, Reiter has the uncanny ability to create a bewildering cross section of styles with aplomb. Featured here are Guy’s remixes of ‘All That I Know’ and ‘Fade Away’ which have been big crowd pleasers in his shows this year. 

  ‘All That I Know’ was originally released on Armadillo Records back in November 2017 as part of his second solo album, Give It Life. In original form, its wonky off-kilter rhythms and delicate sonics shape the track atmospherically. Guy takes that energy and injected his own dance floor voodoo to add some necessary late night groove.   

Also taken from the Give It Life album, ‘Fade Away’ marries deep pads, trip hops beats and influences of Shoegaze. Upping the tempo and adding a hefty dose of funk from the off, Guy brings this detailed and finespun masterpiece onto the frontlines of twenty first century clubland. Subtle and patient the pay off is in the ride.
