It’s been a rather prolific start to the year for Turkish producer Elif. Following the critically acclaimed release of her remix of Husa &amp; Zeyada’s A Little Fun on IAMHER at the beginning of February, the Barcelona-based talent now unveils her first full-length package of 2023, with the announcement of her mesmerising new three-track EP, Letting Go, on Stil Vor Talent.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, February 24, Letting Go marks Elif’s eagerly anticipated return to the long-standing German imprint, following her contributions to the Stil Vor Talent 300 VA back in 2021 with Juno and the label’s 15 Years VA compilation with Entanglement back in 2020. Kickstarting the EP with the arresting opener Let Go, Elif joins forces with German duo Stil &amp; Bense for an emphatic debut collaboration, as the three producers christen the EP with a sinister, underground juggernaut. Layers of industrial synths and intricate beats combine with rolling basslines and intermittent vocal drops and within seconds you’re locked in, riding the wavelengths until you reach the mind-bending breakdown. Next up, Elif lowers the intensity for a more playful second single, Sombre.
Created alongside long-time friend and recent production partner ,Gespona, the pair toy with melody, texture and tonality across the frisky seven-minute cut, cultivating a unique sonic palate that explores an array of minimal,
underground timbres. Last but by no means least is the resounding finale On My Own, as Elif takes the reigns for the aptly-titled closer. A dynamic solo offering delivered by an artist whose creativity in the studio seems to know no bounds, rolling grooves, shuffling rhythms and warped synthesizers shine front and centre, as Elif pulls out all the stops to conclude another extraordinary release on Stil Vor Talent.
Born and raised in the cultural hub of Istanbul, Turkish producer Elif is rapidly earning her rightful place amongst dance music’s elite. Laying claim to an abundance of internationally celebrated releases on the likes of Anjunadeep, Kindisch and Gardens of Babylon over the past few years, the prolific Barcelona-based talent has managed to carve out her own unique sonic path since emerging onto the scene in 2019, and is rapidly making a name for herself as one of the most exciting, in-demand artists in electronic music today.

Now a seasoned regular at some of the most prestigious festivals and events the world over, her consummate calmness in the booth is a stark contrast to the frenzy she kicks up on the other side. With a trademark sound of flowing melodic floor fillers perfectly translating her raw emotion and intention, Elif pulls her audiences between hypnotic drum patterns, intricate arps, thumping kicks and driving bass lines; her selections both thought provoking and timeless. Neapoli-born, Milan-based duo Moonwalk follows up to their 2022-issued 'Dune' EP for Stil vor Talent with their latest two-tracker, 'Eternal', due for release on 29th September. A supra-dynamic foray into their multi-faceted headspace, this new studio effort sees the Italian pair join forces with Alessio Cristiano and EarthLife on two cuts clearly designed with the club in mind. Exponents of a sound both brazenly vanguard whilst paying due tribute to the classic Italo scene through hair-raising buildups and heavy-duty programming, Dario and Mauro have us traversing a wide-ranging palette of sensations, merging "introspection, melancholy and euphoria" as they like to recall. And to say the least, 'Eternal' fits that definition to a tee with its implacable momentum, dead set to take dance floors and ravers by storm.

Made in collaboration with Alessio Cristiano, who created that head-turning melody around which the track revolves, 'Eternal' is pukka Moonwalk material by the book. Spinning at fast pace, its tsunami of ecstatic synths rolls and loops in and out of focus as Dario and Mauro raise the pressure to exhilarating effect. A tunnel-like ride covered with crisp keyboard extravaganza a la Moroder, laced with steroid-fuelled drums and kicks pounding their way across Moonwalk's cosmic sound design with unrelenting horsepower. Teaming up with EarthLife on 'Zoe', Dario and Mauro do not alter their course an iota, rather much ushering us headlong into a boiling keg of electro-pop pyrotechnics. Highly volatile but just as catchy when it comes to that fluttering melody (try and get it off your head), the track proves a reliable ally to the DJ in search of a potent weapon for in-limbo moments, packing the right amount of melancholia-infused dreaminess and that all-terrain punch that'll wreak massive ruckus in its wake.

The latest release from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers finds the label presenting the fourth installment of its ‘Strangers’ series. Conceptualized in 2019 and carefully curated by label boss Antrim, the ‘Strangers’ series is one of the progressive genre’s most anticipated EP compilations. With three edition’s running across 2019-2021, the noteworthy releases saw outstanding contributions from Andrés Moris, Antrim, Claudio Cornejo, Greenage, Ivan Aliaga, Jesuan M, Juan Sapia, Nicolas Rada, Kamilo Sanclemente and more, while support and play from Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo followed. Now, continuing the series as 2023 approaches it’s final quarter, label boss Antrim has once again curated the fourth edition which features new music from (in order of appearance): Antrim, Fran Garay, Agustin Pietrocola, Melodiam (AR), Rocío Portillo & Facucio, Alan Schultz and Nicolas Viana.

Making his label debut with the second selection is Fran Garay. As one of Argentina’s emerging talents, Villa Mercedes resident Fran Garay caught the attention of progressive house fans in 2020 on the strength of early productions for 3rd Avenue and Droid9 South America. Fast forward three years and Fran lays claim to an impressive resume, with recent projects for Droid9, Forensic Records and Mango Alley being the most notable. Continuing on this upwards trajectory, Fran now makes his Or Two Strangers debut with the peak-time flavoured ‘Machine’.

Year 2222 bring us Chapter 3 of our simulation, as we welcome the talented Hollt to Massano's Simulate family. Hollt's "World's Perception" EP brings two new original tracks to the Simulate universe, which combine three core elements of the label's foundation: emotion, aggression and energy. To round out the offering, Enai delivers his take on "World's Perception" with a powerful remix of the EP’s title track. The three track package is a perfect representation of the Simulate label’s ethos that further emphasises their vision for the digitalised future of music.

Title track 'World's Perception' provides an extra oomph to shake a big sound-system with, clean and powerful drums combined with intricate melodic developments that merge that emotional depth with powerful dance-floor moments. 'Sins Of Orion' plummets into a darker and melodic experience perfect for warming up the dance-floor. Enai's remix ties the EP perfectly together with an extra spark of energy to the original, morphing the melancholic vocal and transforming it into more of a hypnotic centre piece, reworking the memorable melodies written by Hollt for an impactful drop.
