In celebration of their 200th release, D-Formation returns to Beatfreak Recordings for the much anticipated follow up to his chart topping 'Anbar'. Released in April of this year the cross pollinated creation reached #3 in Beatport's highly competitive progressive house chart. Played by many of the industry's elite DJs it remains one of the year's stand out tracks, having left fans of the Spanish artist and Beatfreak label boss wondering what his next big project will be. Now as the seasons shift, D-Formation returns to his comfortable home with his most ambitious project to date 'This Is Beatfreak'. Spread across eight tracks and named in conjunction with the label's ADE event at Club NL, this collaborative concept mini album features joint productions with Citizen Kain, Rick Pier O'Neil, Stephane K and Dj Koutarou., along with three solo originals and two DJ tools. 
 
Beginning with the solo piece ‘DC 18’, D-Formation explores shades of deep cosmic techno. On a bed of tight, punchy beats and crunchy electronics comes finely tuned percussion and a smart tonal theme. Buzzing swells add drama and tension as the main break commences before clustered stabs shift energy into an exhilarating finale. 

The second collaboration welcomes French artist Rick Pier O’Neil back to the label. The RPO Records boss last appeared on the Spanish imprint in October of 2016 with a contribution to the label’s ‘Amsterdam’ collection. Now two years on Rick unites with D-Formation for the commanding ‘Odisey’. Dark and menacing from the outset it’s a creation that demands your attention, as it moves through sinister themes and ominous tones. Warped and twisted in all the right ways, the main break proves to be a high point, with rib rattling acid and a fiery build that’s sure to light up your dance floor.

Rounding out the release are DJ Tool versions of ‘Odisey’ and ‘DC 18’ which will no doubt come in handy for the more adventurous jocks out there. They cap off a diverse and exciting collection of  music from D-Formation, which only seems fitting as the label notches it’s 200th release and celebrates one of electronic music’s biggest annual gatherings in the Amsterdam Dance Event.

We can say that love and music are fuels that ignite the productions of Binaryh, and that consequently take them farther and farther. The musical strength of this couple is reaching greater proportions with each new release, and after a first collaboration of great success with the Prisma Techno, we invite the duo to an EP only with original tracks.

Composed by three tracks, the EP starts with the title track, 'Hydra', which has already been played in major festivals by big techno names such as Tale of Us and D-Nox. The track features an acidic and hypnotic atmosphere, holding our attention continuously until Hydra's revelation: a strongly impacting, intense and energetic drop that releases our deepest feelings on the dance floor. It is impossible not to be affected with such energy!

In the sequence, 'Cerberus' takes us into the underworld through a steady stream, dense bass and outstanding timbres, leading us to a mysterious and engaging climate, until the climax of the track. An intro version of 'Cerberus' is also available, exploring the melody of the original track, as well as the apotheosis elements and unique musical characteristics of its creators. Take a deep breath and immerse yourself in this experience!

Together they have carved out a reputation as providers of the finest in Melodic House & Techno and many of the subtle shades in between. They stubbornly refuse to be constricted to the kind of niche genre policy many of today’s labels seem to adopt and it’s a formula that has served them well, attracting some of the best producers in the business to rally behind the Seladorian battle cry. 

As the imprint reaches its 100th release, by way of celebration, Dave & Steve have assembled a crack team of producers to tackle a handful of the label’s landmark back catalogue that had not been previously remixed. Until now! Calling on André Hommen, D-Nox & Beckers, Doc Martin, Kotelett & Zadak, Moonwalk and Petar Dundov to reinterpret the collaborative works of Dave & Steve themselves, Gorge & Joeski, Guy Mantzur & Lonya, Cristoph & Quivver and Luke Brancaccio & Tim Healy - it’s a mightily impressive cast.

Introducing 'Concealed Weapons', a massive double A-sider in the melodic techno spectrum brought two you by two of the top Dutch producers in the genre.

First up it's Mitch De Klein. You might know him from his rougher work on main techno labels such as Filth On Acid and ELEVATE, but this time he shows his melodic side with 'Secret Lake', a proper summer main stage anthem!

Then we move on to Footprint who is no stranger to the Manual Music label family, having made several well received appearances on the Cinematique label. The veteran Dutch producer has struck gold with 'West Of The River', a melancholic and emotional piece of work. Simply lovely!

'The first EP of 2020 will be in the name of the Italian Alberth. With his productions he gains a lot of support and through 2019 he worked his way up. He provided three originals, with 'Focus' as title track, and the remix is coming from the Italian, Berlin based, duo The Ancient Memories.

The first track of the EP is called 'Focus'. As the name already says the track is focused on one particular magical lead. This floating lead is accompanied by some in-the-face drums and atmospheric sounds, which all together created a really effective track.

'Wanderlast' is the second track of the EP, which is a beautiful one. Through the track more and more got revealed of the intriguing high pitched main synth. Even though the track is really atmospheric, Alberth managed to add a certain groove to the percussion.

The third track, 'The Landing', makes you feel like you are hovering somewhere high in the sky. The lead is drifting through the track and got strengthened by some balanced higher sounds.

The Ancient Memories gave 'The Landing' a little bit more power by adding some heavier synths to the floating lead of the original. Every time listening to this remix, you will discover something new, which makes this an impressive end to an impressive EP.'
