PREMIERE: Marc Maya - Reflections (Original Mix) [Cr2]

The longer nights are drawing in and autumn hangs deep in the air as we migrate from wild festival arenas to more intimate club settings. A place where a deeper, more introspective soundtrack has more of an allure and hits the feels with much more impact than it does al fresco. A soundtrack like ‘Made For V’, the latest EP on Diversions from the label co-bossman Nicolas Masseyeff.
The lead track is as personal as it gets as Nico lays down sonic gold for his son Victor. Igniting the smouldering fire with twinkling a arpeggio that tiptoes closer and closer to the centre of the mix, before we know it Masseyeff has enshrouded us with a purring bassline that melts into the groove, oozing sentiment and emotion with every twist and turn.
It’s backed by ‘IBR’. The title isn’t quite so personal but the feelings remain high as a similar velveteen bassline prowls into the mix. At first a whisper, and then a shout, this time it’s wrapped around a stately 4/4 kick, tight percussion rolls and more twinkling layers.
Pensive, provocative and perfect for the longer nights ahead. Let the migration back to the clubs commence for another season. Wrap up warm now...

Opening track Romeo revolves around a sparse, dramatic bassline and similarly sentimental synths, making for introspective flashes on the dancefloor.

On November we’re greeted by grand melodies with huge, spacious pads and monumental breakdowns, the perfect ingredients to spark up those emphatic, hands-in-the-sky type of moments.

Meanwhile, Monocloque flips the script and reveals ample pads in a spectral, dark sound palette, decked with ominous synths and looming resolutions.

Splatters of percussion and haphazard chords are key on Compass North, rounding up the release in a similarly lofty yet dance-provoking manner.

Township Rebellion - November [Snippet]

The 13th edition of Diynamic Music’s prime Various Artist EP series returns. “Four To The Floor” is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world.
Opening the release is electronic music veteran Dubfire with “The End To My Beginning”, a heavily 80s influenced track that, with its erratic horns and sirens, could be the centrepiece of a retrofuturistic movie soundtrack. Following up is the New York native duo Anden, which consists of brothers Tom and Pete Cuppernull, who bring their driving organic electronic soundscapes to Diynamic.
The artist behind track 3, Tom Zeta, is no stranger to Diynamic as he already released a full EP on the label in 2017 and now follows up with yet another contribution to the FTTF Series, his Melodic Techno track “Mirage”. Closing off the record is the very emotional “Rose In Japan” by Italian duo Voon, which just calls for closed eyes and daydreaming on the dancefloor.

French label and celebrated festival crew Family Piknik are back with another vital release which features two new remixes of its 2018’s official anthem ‘KEYS OF GODS’ by TIME. Remixes come from legendary techno tastemaker MARC ROMBOY and French talent PONTIAS, who has been heavily supported by H.O.S.H. 

Systematic’s boss MARC ROMBOY goes first and flips the track into a scintillating bit of bouncing techno. His exquisite chords light up the grooves while big drums pound below. It’s the sort of trance inducing track to really lock in the crowd and take them into the cosmos. After his massive remix for John Digweed on Bedrock, the German legend showcases here his love for analog resyncussions. 

PONTIAS (also formerly known under his Bloody Shelby moniker) then flips it into a deeper cut, with melancholic chords laid over the rolling drums. It’s a late night and moody track that has bright, distant pads lighting up the airwaves and you can see this one really getting people into the groove. 

This is another epic EP from the Family Piknik crew as this year’s huge festival season gets ever close.
