NEW EARTH was the perfect track to introduce the promising and very talented female artist to the label. Alfiya is a professional trained violinist and she incorporates that beautiful acoustic instrument into her own productions. The result is a fresh and rich sound. Acoustic meets electronic.

Label honcho PASSENGER 10 contributes with a remix that takes a clubbier and darker direction but still keeps the majority of the gorgeous violin licks and the well thought-out chamber ensemble chord progressions.

The latest release from Astral Records finds Paul Anthonee back in the spotlight with a new EP. Acting as the label's A&R, the Cyprus born Greece based producer has been a primary contributor to the imprint since its inaugural offering two years ago. The Thessaloniki resident has recorded eight originals and two remixes for the Greek imprint, appearing most recently in cooperation with fellow countryman Paul Angelo & Don Argento as part of the label's 'Celestial' Pt. 2 collection. Also finding a home on Parquet, Running Clouds, Steyoyoke and Suara, Paul now makes a welcome return to his comfortable home of Astral with a two-track showcase entitled 'The Machines'.

Beginning with the panoramic synth textures and prophetic vocal samples of 'We Are The Machines', Paul flexes his free-thinking muscles with a creation equally at home on a peak time dance floor or floating above a festival skyline. A euphoric shade is revealed through trance inducing melodies across the main break, rising against a backdrop of welcoming pads, all while bringing a tasteful balance of tension and emotion as the groove drops for a thrilling conclusion.

Meanwhile, the companion piece 'Epilipsia' is an apt barometer of where Paul's headspace is at, as he lets striking chord stabs and robotized themes blanket tough beats, rippling grooves and detailed percussive arrangements. Paul's instinctive ability to tip a dance floor over the edge is reaffirmed with sci-fi vocal samples and shapeshifting atmospherics carrying into the main break. Looking to bring even greater drama, the centerpiece delights with its cavernous sense of space and buzzing sonic flurry, eventually giving way to striking drop and suitably charged finale.

Release Info: 
Almost half a year after the album release and two months after its vinyl release, it's time for a remix collection of the 'Echoes' album by Pelace. The purpose behind the remixes was to connect electronica with the modern-day melodic techno. It became a great selection of which Fat Cosmoe, Precursor, Hollt, Aalson and Convolute return to the label. Besides, Kimman and Ikaro Grati are making their debut.

The package starts off with Fat Cosmoe his remix of 'Forever Together', which was the intro track of the album. The feeling of the elements of the original track is preserved very well. Around these elements a dancefloor focused and stabby arrangement has been added, to make the track pounding and emotional at the same time.

Precursor went a different direction with his electronica aimed interpretation of 'Deep Sea Dreaming'. A certain flow lead by the percussion and main synth made the basis of the track. Throughout the track all parts are coming together on top of this flow, which forms great synergy.

Kimman's remix of 'Patterns' is representing the darker side of the collection. With harsh, somewhat aggressive, but superb components they build their track using the original's midi. The remix consists of three parts building towards the moment where everything intertwines perfectly.

For the remix of 'Kali', Hollt made a monumental piece of melodic house. A lot of the original parts are used, which makes this track a direct translation into Hollt's signature sound. Where the track seems a bit empty at the beginning, it becomes highly effective, uplifting and full of surprises throughout the arrangement.

Another Belgium based talent, who goes by the name of Ikaro Grati, is the one who did a remix of the title track 'Echoes From The Past'. In his remix he stripped down the original quite far and build a danceable, uplifting and ecstatic track around one of the midi's and the main vocals.

Aalson his interpretation of 'Pushing You Away' represents the emotional part of the collection. After Starting off very timid, the track unfolds itself into a sophisticated play of intriguing and floating elements, which are giving more and more during the track.

For the final track Convolute did what they can do best. Their remix of 'I Won't Hesitate' became a thoughtful and electronica focused track, in which they perfectly recreated the lead synth while giving it some extra body. Everything accompanied by a satisfying breakbeat and an atmospheric use of the vocals.

To showcase the ideas behind Simulate, I wanted to kick things off with an EP from myself to really cement what the sound, look and feel of the label will be. These tracks are about using digital and futuristic sounds to create aggressive yet energetic and emotional moments that can be enjoyed both on the dancefloor and at home. “Alone” is the first track of the EP, a captivating collaboration with the immensely talented Braev - this track is one that really showcases what Simulate is all about, to me this track shows human creativity fighting with digital innovation. “The Blaze” is next up, a much-requested track that I have been playing in my sets for some time now, and it never fails to get people moving. I love how raw this track is and it further emphasizes the digital feel of the label. “Paranoia” closes out The Theory EP, it's a simple yet effective track that plays off the idea of having lots of different sounds, both analog and digital, playing the same rhythm which creates interesting calls and responses throughout.”

French duo Birds of Mind makes its debut on Underyourskin Records with one of the most outstanding tunes in recent House history . ‘Flying Through the Soul‘ perfectly prepares dancefloors in summer for a spiritual and emotional ride full of hope, mournfulness, severity and melancholy expressed through a shaman vocal chant that unfolds its power in the deepness of the synth melody with additional folk samples. Just Emma‘s remix lowers the tempo of the original adding their magnificant crunchy baseline and flavoring the melody with groaning synth sounds that make the track more and more hypnotical in the course implementing these engrossing chants to have a start to finish winning. The second remix comes from Dutch producer El Mundo who adds an Iberian touch to the track by bringing in a Mediterranian guitar that points out the confidence. Birds of Mind‘s second tune ‘Palang Kuh‘ completes the EP with a synth-driven downtempo vibe with arps flying around like boomerangs cutting the air.
