Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of July by welcoming Supacooks back to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Armenia, the Supacooks duo first emerged in 2013 with a project via BEEF Records. Applauded for their deep house grooves, Supacooks enjoyed a steady rise in the years to come, with Dear Deer, Nervous Records and Ready Mix Records all becoming landing spots for the duo's transcendent sound. Continuing to evolve as artists, Supacooks would experience an evolution in sound with the advent of melodic house and techno, choosing to explore the movement in their own productions, while earning the praise of the genre's tastemakers. Beatfreak, Lost On You and Parquet Recordings would be instrumental, serving as vehicles for the duo's contemporary vision and continued rise. So too would Movement Recordings, with Supacooks making their label debut in 2019 with a remix of Paul Angelo and Don Argento. Now making a welcome return to the label, Supacooks present their much anticipated 'Levitation' EP, alongside a remix from Paul Angelo and Don Argento.

Getting the EP underway with the title selection, Supacooks marry rolling grooves with dark rebounding rhythms and devilish stabs. Pronounced and energetic, an enticing array of effects elevates mood across the first act, as shimmering arrays and effervescent artefacts provide a bridge into the main break. Balmy atmospheres rise across the interlude, creating moments of anticipation as an eventual zenith is reached with a wave of drums spearheading a groovy finale.

Returning to the label and delivering the lone interpretation of 'Levitation' are Paul Angelo and Don Argento. Hailing from Cyprus, the much-loved duo have been regular contributors to Movement Recordings, having appeared on the label nine times since making their debut in 2017. Often walking the line between melodic house and techno and progressive house, Paul and Don have become fixtures in Beatport's sales charts in recent years, with a string of impressive outings via Clubsonica Records Timeless Moment, UV and Movement affiliate Astral Records. Now, presenting their first remix of 2022, Paul and Don return to Movement with a powerful rendition of 'Levitation'. Taking inspiration from the original while adopting a techno state of mind, Paul and Don layer chunky bass stabs and arcane electronics atop compact beats and flickering percussive arrangements. Mysterious and driving throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for an energetic yet atmospheric journey, elegantly melting down to ethereal phrasing across a one-minute interlude, before a mystical final act puts a cap on this creative gem.

Continuing with a mosaic of sounds and infinite emotional spectrums is 'Passion'. From warm and mystical beginnings, the piece pulsates with hip swinging grooves and rolling rhythmic structures. Emerging chord stabs elevate mood across an early break, effortlessly shifting energy into a high-octane second movement, before breaking off into a spirited synth phrasing and glowing pads for a purring finale.

Rounding out the release are the elegant sounds of 'Illusionism'. Beginning with punchy beats and a warm chugging groove, its rhythmic energy grows quickly. Waves of percussion and vocal overlays elevate mood across the first act, as processed piano stabs continue to emerge during the main break, eventually giving way to a trance inducing arp for a glowing conclusion. A fitting end to a sensational artist showcase from Supacooks, an artist duo who make an inspired return to Movement Recordings with 'Levitation'.

The latest release from Tash's Movement Limited welcomes Nikko.Z to the label for his debut single. As one of Movement Recordings core contributors early on, the Greek producer made his label debut in 2012 with a remix of 'Sandcastles' by Yves Eaux and Arnold from Mumbai. Well received, it set the course for Nikko to deliver nine originals and five remixes over the next six years, closing out that run with a thrilling rendition of 'No Sleep' by Marc De Pulse which landed in June of 2018. Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Madloch's Sound Avenue have all played host to Nikko's groovy progressive vision over the course of his near two decade long career, with his own flagship imprint Dopamine Music being a primary home of late. Having gotten the year underway with a remix for SLC-Music, Nikko now makes his debut on Movement's Limited division with 'Anatole', alongside remixes from Sebastian Sellares and HAEN.

The original mix is an apt barometer of where Nikko's headspace is at, with heartfelt themes descending over a bed of warm wavy grooves and retro rhythms. Glowing overlays add depth and emotion across the first act, as percolating arps open up, guiding the journey into a trance-inducing interlude, before breaking off into a rush of flickering percussive arrangements and vibrant melodies for a colourful finale.

I'm so happy that I've managed to put together some tracks for my first self realease, this is the series of tracks I was working on this summer and I'd say very distinct and unique sound

With the blend of minimal house, deep chords with chill summer vibes this album I would describe as a journey into sunny Dalmatia where I get a loads of influences for my music

September blues is nothing more than a nostalgic,melancholic groovy vibe ,which can make you feel calm or moving while you sipping cold drink on a sunshine 🌞 ☀️ ✨️

This album was my music of summer 2025 ,slow, relaxed ,lazy with some aspirations for groove

This style is blend between rominimal, deep house, some tech sounds and nostalgia,infused with some jazzy mood..

The Original mix is a progressive house dream. Once the framework is built and the foundations laid, melodics intermix with delightful results. Never overpowering, its presence becomes hypnotic reaching a crescendo wall of sound which melts away effortlessly. Rauchhaus injects some Teutonic wizardry playfully manipulating the main motifs into the joyous cacophony while Yost Koen goes super wonky and weirds it out with a melodic machine groove.'

Release Info:
Michael Hooker has been a revered name in the worlds of techno and melodic house for quite some time. The UK-bred, US-based DJ, producer, and label owner is known for his tasteful blend of heavy rhythms and catchy melodic sequences which have seen releases on labels like Desert Hearts Black, Dear Deer, Suah, and his own Re:Sound Music. Michael makes his debut on Yoshitoshi with the Warning EP, featuring two unique originals and a stunning remix from progressive house mainstay Quivver.

'Warning' is the kind of hard and heavy techno that seems to build forever, its rising leads and soaring sounds creating a sonic tornado of tension before unleashing flurries of sirens and pounding drums. As Nigel Tufnel might say, this one 'goes to 11.'

'Thoughts of You' is more on the hypnotic side of things, with a slower tempo and a syncopated vocal sample that morphs and evolves into all manner of robotic forms. Lush pads and exotic percussion fill out the space creating an atmospheric vibe that still rolls and moves like proper techno.

Quivver's remix of 'Thoughts of You' takes the track in a darker, cinematic direction, with massive, modulating synth stabs and a heavy groove. It's trademark Quivver, and the veteran producer's chops are on full display with his razor-sharp focus to detail. The remix rounds out this package with a refreshing and progressive mix.
