Originally released on Perfecto back in 2002, “Requiem For A Dream” was arguably Leama’s biggest release with the equally sublime Dream and Ambient Mixes. Since then the track has gained somewhat of a cult status and is considered a key classic among the progressive fans (in the traditional sense of the word progressive – as opposed to the widely recognised genre sound of today).

Bringing the track bang up to date are new remixes from label head Paul Oakenfold, who’s features his version on his new “Cream 21” compilation album, progressive house stalwart Quivver - who turns in a deep, brooding take and one of our favs Andre Sobota - whose recent remix of Justin Oh’s “Find You” is still on daily rotation in the Perfecto office. Hot on the heels of his insane “Bullet in The Gun” makeover breaks legend Refracture delivers a truly delicious take which completes the package immaculately.   

With a powerful and varied mix of styles, this is a fierce package that will keep fans on all sides of the fence happy.

The 41st release on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital sees the debut of legendary DJ and promoter Freddy Be.  A genuine staple in LA, Freddy has been delivering great music and first-rate events on the west coast since the early 90's.  From the legendary Monday Social parties, which celebrates its 20th year as North America's longest running weekly house music event, to his awe-inspiring Earthdance festivals ('97-'03), his tireless efforts have been instrumental in defining the progress of Southern California's dance music culture.

His exceptional track selection and expertly paced sets have allowed him to land residencies at Exchange LA, Audio SF, and Sound Nightclub, as well as tour across the nation to perform at major festivals including Coachella, Desert Hearts, BPM, and Minus Zero.

In addition to DJing, Freddy Be's productions have led him to collaborations with various well known LA based producers including Trent Cantrelle, DAVI, and Freaky Chakra.  His hypnotic Tech House productions have already been playlisted by Carl Cox, Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Quivver, and John Digweed on his massively popular ‘Transitions' radio show.  2016 will be another strong year with the release of his track ‘Holding Back' including remixes by Betoko, Soul Trader, and Deep Tribe featuring Violin Girl.

The first remix of ‘Holding Back' is by Betoko, who transforms the dreamy original into a high-energy rollercoaster and peak-time bomb.  The London based, Mexican born producer boasts a highly esteemed back catalog on labels such as Get Physical, Diynamic, Suara, Kittball, and Supernature.  His music has been licensed for use on popular TV shows, ad campaigns, and is regularly supported by some of the world's biggest DJ's.  Betoko's infectious sounds have been heard at pretty much every top club and festival in the world where he has played B2B sets with DJ's like Sasha and Nick Warren.

Little is known about Soul Trader aside from the limited info his mentor and cohort Funkagenda has released.  His deep, throbbing techno influenced sounds have already begun making waves with remixes for Quivver, Deep Tribe, and a spectacular debut EP on Incorrect Music.  We may not know much about this shadowy figure but we do know that he's going to go far.  Soul Trader's remix of ‘Holding Back' hits hard, and we have no doubt this track will tear up the dancefloor and maybe even bring down the walls.

The third and final remix is by LA duo Deep Tribe featuring Violin Girl.  Though they've both had success in the dance music industry under various pseudonyms, Dimitry Rozental and Andrew Knopf have finally found their niche as Deep Tribe, fusing unique influences to craft a solid catalog of House and Techno music.  With a steady stream of releases on labels such as Wulfpack and Perfect Driver, Deep Tribe are quickly becoming an unshakeable force in the world of dance music production.  Their heavily brooding, emotional remix of ‘Holding Back' is guaranteed to cut straight to the heart.

Florian Kruse & Hendrik Burkhard present TheGround Dediction 

Those with a keen ear for the ebbs and  ows of the underground scene will be well aware of the the emergence of Florian Kruse’s (@floriankruse) and Hendrik Burkhard’s (@hendrik-burkhard) TheGround project (@the_ground_official). Kruse is of course well known for his extensive career in underground house music in the German capital, but connecting with Burkhard in 2015 took him to a different level. The guys got together in 2016 to create this body of work, building on their shared chemistry and artistic compatibility. The result is 'Dediction' - an album that showcases exactly what is getting people so excited about this project.

Kicking off with the emotive and epic intro 'Sirens Call', the album soon clicks into gear with lead single 'Homeless Hearts'. The track exemplifies the duo’s effect on each other - the slick, nuanced and spacy production gives way to a powerful groove, providing the perfect backing for Burkhard’s dreamy vocal. 'Undercover' keeps things rolling, thick with minor chord synths flourishes and punchy drums. Two of last year’s standout tracks - 'Crack in the Wall' (feat. Mi.li.an) and 'Going Against The Grain' are included here with radically new versions - both moving and atmospheric pieces that defines the album’s sense of beautiful melancholia. Co-written by Raphael Hofman 'Silence' occupies a similar space while 'Through The Darkness' feat. Saccao (@saccaodj) comes with a more direct approach - a powerful tech-house workout featuring incredible synth programming and moments of pure euphoria. 'Creature' also brings the heat with a thick growling bass and precise, arpeggiated synth lines that cut through the mix like lasers. Rounding out the album is 'Falling' (also featuring the vocal prowess of Mi.li.an) - yet another moment that finds a balance between the pure release of the dancefloor and the dreamy, woozy feel Kruse and Burkhard seem to tap into with every release.
Fittingly, the last word is given to another sublime collaboration - Kingdom Of Crumbling Walls features Vincenzo (@vincenzo_official) & Mi.li.an alongside Kruse and Burkhard, elegantly showcasing the power of their emotional, melodic songwriting.

  Named after his young son, 'Nazar' is an inspiring production that sees Freegrant firing on all cylinders. Starting off, the production features a number of intricately woven synth patterns layered over top of a sturdy backbone comprised of a crisp, alternating 1-2 combo from the hi hat and snare.As the record progresses, Max introduces light vocal echoes in the distant background and more syncopated synth chords that will have any listeners feeling the love Freegrant's one-year old son has brought into his life already. Clocking in at just over seven minutes in length, Freegrant has plenty of room to stretch his legs in a productive capacity and 'Nazar' is the perfect example of what happens when a talented artist finds just the right inspiration.
