For the remix of Middle Class we're happy to welcome utterly talented Riccardo LeBron aka Anakim to YOMO. Mentioned by DJMag as an "Artist to Watch" in 2019 he has delivered on his praises with releases and remixes on Desert Hearts Black, EIN2 and Mango Alley. Showcasing his outstanding production skills Riccardo preserves the main elements of the original while adding a more progressive touch with an irrestistibly bouncy bassline, pitch warping synths and driving percussion.

We welcome GIGEE back to mobilee after the success of „Lullaby EP” with a topic that is very close to our hearts, that of our hometown Berlin. Inspiring many over the decades, we are happy to hear a 2022 expression of love for our unique late night universe.

"Berlin" tells the tale of historic walls that whilst concrete and grey, exude so much warmth. Driving beats and transcendental moments join that tongue in cheek fun and randomness that a long night into day here brings.

Next up, "Grindeveld" takes the listener on a lighter but no less monumental journey complete with those stomping beats. Completing the EP, "Azurblau" brings a deep groove alongside a wild story of peaking synths.

NWD PREMIERE | Bouzidi - Never Was My Choice [Innuendo]

This is very much a Kaskade-inspired progressive house track that also draws some elements from tech house. The use of a flanger was used in place of reverb to help de-clutter the track and create some space. The trails and decay of the verb and delay were muddying up the track. The vocal samples are a bit tricky, as they start on the offbeat and drag right into the pocket. Despite the sound, they are actually quantized and in time with the rest of the track, verified via quantization. Some of these tracks are side-chained as needed. This is also the first time in a while that I've used organ stabs rather than piano stabs. 

The organ stabs follow a chord progression of Aminor7 - Cminor7 - Fminor7 - Db(Maj7,9,13)), taking on a rather odd ♯III⁷ – v⁷ – i⁷ – ♭VIᴹ⁷(9,13) pattern. However, it's surprisingly pleasant in a mix despite being slightly jarring in isolation.

Needless to say, this is not a minimal track by any stretch of imagination, and the music theory behind this one is extensive, especially from both a melodic and temporal standpoint.

This one aims to be another feel-good and easy-to-vibe-with track.
