As a studio and live musician for many German major artists, Johannes Brecht was able to build a reputation as a talented newcomer in recent years. A hardware whiz who acted mostly in the background - this is where Brecht felt most comfortable. Therefore, it makes little sense to pigeonhole the man from Stuttgart in only one genre. 

With a few visits to the Netherlands already under his belt, Brecht is now returning to the low country during ADE for a performance at his newly found label: Diynamic. London’s Progressive House scene is about to be graced by one of Argentina’s brightest stars making his UK debut: Marcelo Vasami (Sudbeat, Hope, Replug) will be playing a 3 hour set at Progressive Astronaut’s third event on 10th March. Joining him making his own UK debut is DMP aka Robert R Hardy (SoulArt, Global Underground, Balkan Connection). Robert is one of the most prolific progressive house producers of his generation, he has been known to produce enough music in one month to fill a whole set!

Having brought Dmitry Molosh to the UK for the first time last September, we’re really excited to continue with two more UK debuts (and very glad to have lured Robert out of his studio for a gig).

That’s not all though, we are also very excited to be bringing DJ / Producer and multi-instrumentalist Roger Martinez (Sudbeat, GEM Records, Lost & Found, Plattenbank, Tronic) from The Netherlands to play. Roger’s releases on the biggest progressive house labels have rocked dance floors all over the world and it has been a few years since he last played in the UK, so this is a long awaited visit for his UK fans. Completing the line-up is LOLA who has graced the decks at all of London’s hottest nightspots, playing a mixture of progressive house, deep house and techno. We’re delighted that LOLA has agreed to play for us; she has a superb instinct for timing and as a result, her sets are filled with excitement and creative tension.

The new venue for our events is The Bridge nightclub, run by the same people who run Studio 338. The club is fitted out with a state of the art VOID acoustics sound system, so not only will you be entertained by 4 fantastic DJs, but their sets will be delivered on equipment that is world class. As with previous events we hope to live stream the whole thing via the Progressive Astronaut YouTube channel and anyone arriving before 11pm will be given a free drinks token.

Kevin Huizing AKA Budakid is a Berlin based music producer/dj. Coming from a very musical family, it was only a matter of time before young Budakid started playing an instrument of his own. As a drummer in a drum ensemble, the soon-to-be producer/dj got his first taste of beats and he wanted more. Having a good sense of rhythm helped him as a fledgling dj. Before long, Budakid landed his first residency in one of Utrecht’s most popular clubs. Although he wasn’t of legal age, several clubs asked him to perform and Budakid showed his promise by measuring up to peers twice his age.

But as it happens with a lot of dj’s, only dj’ing wasn’t enough for his own musical output. So Budakid sought out to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Influenced by the likes of Joris Voorn, Stimming, Trentemøller and acts such as Massive Attack, Radiohead and Caribou, the Dutchman developed a very melodic style of his own. A typical Budakid song has floating melodies, the right set of chords and some strong, energetic vibes all mashed together. All this made him a crowd favorite at festivals like Tomorrowland, Fusion Festival, Sonar Festival, Feel Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event and SonneMondSterne and clubs such as Katerblau (DE), Sissyphos (DE), Watergate (DE), Cafe D’anvers (BE), Thuishaven (NL) and Melkweg (NL).

His music has been already supported by heavyweights such as Sasha, Joris Voorn, Guy J, Kölsch and Deadmau5. That’s something that didn’t happen overnight. Budakid’s tracks have been released on respected labels like Einmusika, Last Night On Earth, All Day I Dream, Get Physical and Audiomatique. Well-known blogs and magazines including Deep House Amsterdam, FAZE Magazine and VICE’s Thump are very enthusiastic about the producer’s tracks. So it’s safe to say Budakid isn’t just another kid on the block. Already regarded as a more than reliable producer/dj by his peers, nothing stands in the way of Budakid to become one of the greats.
