Dj XS Funky Hip Hop Mix - 70mins of funky, jazzed up hip hop & soul grooves.

An artist of renowned global repute, James Monro's light has shone brightly in the underground firmament. Culminating in a body of work from a rich and varied career, the full-length "In the Ether" album showcased Monro's work in a dozen stunning tracks. As Yin and Yang now return to the album, "Frolic Acid" is remixed by Swedish and Russian talents.

From his studio in the Ramenskoye District, part of the Moscow Oblast, Kirill Smirnov is a trance and progressive house producer who has made a name for himself under the Enlusion production alter-ego. With well over a century of production credits to his name since a debut for Soundfield in mid-2015, Enlusion has featured on a range of heavyweight imprints that include JOOF, OLD SQL and Black Hole. Indeed, it was the "Leaving Earth" EP for the latter in August 2017 that saw an outstanding collaboration with Gordey Tsukanov and a remix from Soundbreeze. 

With his music supported the DJ glitterati that includes Paul Van Dyk, John 00 Fleming and Solarstone, amongst a host of others, Enlusion now debuts on Yang with a remix that takes "Frolic Acid" on a dynamic new journey. Making intelligent use of the pulsating bass line that was such a dominant theme of the original, Smirnov adds a gloriously emotive new progression that builds on Monro's work. Complemented by strong beat and off-beat percussive cadence, the trademark psy-trance motifs of "Frolic Acid" are fully utilized as a swathe of pads adds further texture and depth.
