This set is dedicated to one of the nicest guys I´ve ever met - a good guy, a good DJ, a good producer, a good friend, a good son, a good husband and a good father - simply a good man.

Unfortunately, destiny decided that he should leave us way too early. He died out of a sudden, completely unexpected on August 15, 2022. Would have liked to spend more time with him. He was sincere, genuine, very funny and unselfishly shared his experiences with others.  We shared a passion for music and had the same sense of humor.  I really miss him.

Ninechecker grew up in northern England, far away from anything cool. 
Attracted to the heavier, more underground sounds of late 90’s Jungle, Techno and Electro, he regularly attended the legendary Liverpool club night Voodoo and Bugged Out! fell in love with watching Dave Clarke destroy dancefloors. 
After years spent dancing it up London and then Berlin, Ninechecker settled in Toronto, Canada, reassembling his small studio and got on with producing his own flavour of Electro, with dashes of Bleep Techno, Miami Bass booms, broken drum machines and atmospheric sauce from his secret-sauce bottle. 
He’s released on Varial Records, Zodiac Wax, Supercomputer AV, Orson and forthcoming on Brokntoys. 
You might also catch his live hardware set currently being road-tested around Toronto and its neighboring cities.

Alongside his solo projects, Fin makes up 1/4 of the Lizard Tapes (@lizard_tapes) collective and 1/2 of SETI Code (@seti.code) whose debut release is slated for late-October, which you can catch in the mix alongside a few other upcoming tracks. 

This mix is really a testament to why Tankard loves mixing electro - there are so many faces to the genre which can all coexist in the same set without it losing a clear direction, energy and groove. Józef Flakus, also known as Somnolent Works, is a producer, DJ and music explorer based in Upper Silesia. He is passionate about noisy electro, breakbeat/jungle rhythms and 90s techno, often with robotic and strong elements. He loves to break conventions and explore new musical directions taken from different genres of music. The gritty and atmospheric landscape of factories, mines, and steelworks of his hometown region has had a significant impact on his music, particularly in its darker and more experimental elements. Somnolent Works sound often reflects the mechanical rhythms and metallic textures of the industrial world. He is a regular member of the CEL club in Katowice and a founder of the No Photo Policy label. He already released his tracks in labels like: Ovelha Trax, SKAN Records, POTOP, Your Character, Peace Tomorrow.
