With good times hard to come by these days, we’re dropping this EP as our first release on the brand-new OTA Recordings because we want you to know that maybe its gonna be all OK after all.

Project Fallen is two unnamed producer/DJs reconnecting. One dwells in London holding down a job in the music business, the other currently living in South Africa doing who knows what?

Folding came to pass via a bunch of gruelling production sessions in London, Capetown and Amsterdam, with a brief touch of icing on the cake in NYC to boot.

We see these tracks as two takes on the same song; the original leans in the direction of Detroit, dropping that tighter, slightly darker groove out of the two. The remix, courtesy of PROJECT TEMPO, aims for a pure uplifting house type of vibe, bringing those savant chords in which just lift your soul and give you that release - you know the one; where you sit whilst you're just flooded with nothing but good vibes?

Dive in, fill your boots, spread the word and play it loud every fucking place you can, because we’ve collectively earned it, goddammit.

Thanks to two friends and head honchos of Samosa Records, De Gama and Les Inferno, a steady and reliable wave of releases which are supported by the likes of Moodymann, Red Greg and Jacques Renault, means that the label has reached it's second year.

There's much to admire on this first full outing from newcomer Ferdinand Debeaufort, whose only previous outing was a sole track on Slightly Transformed's recent Summer Numbers 2020 compilation. By and large, the re-edits are bouncy and floor-focused, with the lavishly named Debeaufort adding a bit more percussive pressure to a variety of disco-centric cuts. He starts in confident mood with a brilliantly chopped-up and rearranged version of an old Fantastic Aleems cut ('Funny Feeling'), before dancing his way through a rubbery disco-boogie number (the synth-sporting 'Make Love'). Elsewhere, 'Casou' is a killer version of a mid-80s French synth-boogie number, 'Can't Do It Alone' is a horn-sporting disco celebration built around short, subtly changing loops, and 'Show Me How' is a low-slung treat.

An EP of collaborations, featuring a beautiful vocal from Kathy Diamond, and a track I worked on with the mysterious Backdoor Man.  Hot Gorilla chief Andy Buchan is on remix duties.  Released on Hot Digits Music on 2nd November (HOTDIGIT077).  Early support from Bill Brewster and Fingerman.
